@ZeTaEXiSTeNZ Using your wrists is good, it just takes longer to get used to and to get it up to speed. Wrists give you a lot of power and let you play pretty much independently of rebound, which can be pretty handy.

@abacacus Honestly, I practice with both extremely heavy marching sticks and extremely light sticks, and I can go as fast with either! It just takes more energy with heavier sticks. Playing with lighter sticks is harder in some ways, because its more difficult to accept the rebound, since they have a smaller mass and therefore leaves less room for error. However, once you get it going, its simply effortless :D

I see your point, but for me light sticks take WAY more energy because of the lack of rebound. After the first strike, the stick does all the work for me. A little finger, a lot of wrist, and a nice powerful 250 is there like magic.
