@zoomjoo I'm pretty sure the Arabs beat up their women just like the chimps, and the Jews don't do that shit. Jews don't suicide bomb their own people (or any people), and Jews don't have as much body hair as Arabs. So, if you really wanted to stick with this whole ape analogy, Jews kind of fit bonobo, and arabs are more like chimps. but africans are not like gorillas. Gorillas are just big and strong, but they're not really that violent (plus they're vegetarians).
Male-dominated chimps aren't "Horridly Patriarchal" and bad. Bonobo Female-dominate isn't "peaceful" and good. It is simply nature. Chimpanzees survive punishing abuse and yet, survive. Bonobos drop dead from shock (example: WWII Berlin bombing). Nature follows its path--no good or bad. Don't use Human models to judge other species. They are as they are. No good, and no bad.
Actually, there is no evidence that Bonobo females "dominate".The males are cooperative,it's a different social structure.
Search here on You-Tube for the "Man woman myth".Those documentaries completely debunk the notion of women being less prone to violence or sadism..etc They're just as bad if not worse than men.
Male violence may be more damaging due to physical strength, resources..etc .. but give women the same power , strength, opportunities and they behave worse than men. Vicious.
Very interesting theory! I am not a scientist, but it could maybe explain why they walk quite often upright, an adaptation to an environment with less trees as it is supposed with australopithecus.
eh? Did you edit out the part about the bonobo sexual practices?

I don't get it - this video confused me.
Are bonobos and chimps descended from a common ancestor or are bonobos descended from chimps?
There is quite a difference between the two
RevengeOfIjapa 1 year ago
@RevengeOfIjapa That simply means that the common ancestor is, at least ecologically, very similar to the actual chimp.

@lamaspacos Thanks for clearing that up (Y)

@RevengeOfIjapa "are bonobos descended from chimps?" This doesn't make more sense than humans descend form apes.
wolfgangouille 1 year ago
@RevengeOfIjapa they're two different species of chimps, the common chimp and the bonobo chimp. Some similarities, but different types

Not heard that theory before as to why chimpanzees & benobos differ socially. It seems quite plausible too.
