does anyone know if dodge built a 2500 ext cab with a 'Short Bed' from 94 to 98? just something i have been wondering about, cause i've never seen one, i hear they are out there but not from any reliable sources. i'm a cummins crazy an the only thing that would be in my price range would be a 12 valve probably an i want a ext cab short bed, so if anyone can tell me i'd appreciate it.
@creekboy007 they do but they are the most desired. they were only made for 6 months if even. it is considered the holy grail of all cummins trucks. youre looking at over 10000 to find one in decent conditon. 98 qcsb.
@creekboy007 yeah they made em. those are hard to track down but if you come across the right guy they don't have to break the bank. mine isnt a sb but it's a ext. cab lb dually in awesome shape for 6700. i was like score! haha.
what year, did u set your timing yet, i have a 96 with dynamite diesel 90 horse injectors, 4k gov springs, dynamite comp deilivery valves and 145 fuel plat, afe intake and 4 inch straigt pipe. need igger turbo thought can push 50lbs boost 3/4 throtale
@TheKnightrider23 how much of a difference do you feel in the torque with those mods? I have to same injectors and im curious what people say bout em. I dont have the truck yet..
@TheKnightrider23 so if i want to get the most power without concern of fuel its best to remove it all together instead of paying for a after market one? because im thinking of removing mine. please reply
@america151 yea thats basically what i did. I ran an aftermarket plate for awhile but finally i just took the plate out and noticed a big difference. Ive been runnin it like that for 4 years and havent had any problems
@TheKnightrider23 its not good for teh pump to run it without a fuel plate. i got a fuel plate from a diesel shop. the guy took it out of his 12 valve sled pulling truck. expensive fixes if u take it out
@tracescowgirl from what i've seen it doesn't matter if you run it with or without the plate. however your egt's can be hot without a plate. you'll also tear up an auto and slip a stock clutch really bad. most of the time when someone fries a pump it's cuz of poor afc tuning, something breaking in the pump unrelated to the plate (like if you mod your afc and don't reassemble and install it correctly), or a lift pump failure.
Yea its the aneroid screw on the back that moves the afc arm back and forth... Some call it the smoke screw. And no I have a 500 hp single disc kevlar/ceramic from Kennys pulling parts in Kentucky.
Could we please see more of ur truck bud

@TheKnightrider23 hey i just bought a 96 5 speed how do you remove the plate and do you think the tranny would hold up
fordblowz 1 year ago
@fordblowz the tranny will be fine but the clutch will slip. You will need to upgrade to a bigger clutch
