  • AT LEAST THIS TIME THEY WERE JUST BURNING IMAGES SINCE IN MEDIEVAL TIMES THEY USED TO BURN PEOPLE AND GALILEO WAS ABOUT TO BECOME ONE OF THEIR VICTIMS...thanks God it didn't happened ! ...hahaha (it's a joke!).

  • John loves Mary written in sand on the beach is evidence for design because it is something we can recognize as a product of human design. Life forms, stars, and planets though are not.

  • The painting of the ape-to man was voted to be taken down, not "vandalised"

  • @RekindledRebelfire I'd call burning it a sign of vandalism.

  • If 'John Loves Mary' was written by a creationists then there's proof intelligence wasn't required!!

  • Yeah! Right-wing Christard Funny-mentalist just love to burn stuff. If I had been the student who painted the mural depicting the evolution of man, I would have told them to please, do not burn my painting and let me to take it down myself to take it home with me for safe keeping until the local controversy was settled, and hopefully, I may be able to put it back up again on public display. But no! The student wasn't even allowed that chance. They just took it and burned it. Ecclesiass-holes!

  • 268 people are scientific geniuses.

  • @HiryuGouki Doesn't require a genius to tell - abeit with all the information available nowadays - that intelligent design is rubbish.

  • 139 people are Creationist Twits.

  • I feel ashamed that the university I'm at (Warwick) could have ever employed someone as stupid as Steve Fuller. Wtf is he doing on this programme anyway? He taught sociology.

  • So they're so busy burning paintings that are offensive and go against all they were told...

Well, we might as well burn The Adoration of the Magi by Sandro Botticelli because it features Jesus' birth.

Of course, I'm exaggerating. But that was some kids painting. You don't do that.

  • 'John loves Ma-...' Of for the love of...they're not even TRYING to hide it!

  • "A think-tank called the Discovery Institute" - so many errors in such a short sentence.

  • I evolved from Peter Griffin's chin!

  • only in America...

  • "... and thats when i introduced him to the theory of intelligent design..." *sigh*

Yet another ignorant as to what a scientific theory is.

One thing is certain, I.D. does not fit the bill of a theory.

You would think a lawyer should be educated enough to know the difference. Unless ofc, he has a different agenda - I bet you he makes more than 100$ a week representing other religious fanatics

  • In general, theories are falsifiable.

    There's nothing falsifiable of ID.

  • @tdjdk Whether or not he knows, he's also preening for the cameras. He's part of a culture of people that want to christianize the country.

  • the Salem witch trials all over again. religion is has brainwashed you people. open your eyes there is NO god.

  • Too bad Phillip Johnson is a law professor and not a qualified biologist, otherwise his opinions might actually amount to something.

  • The integration of Natural Selection and Intelligent Design is studied in Buddhism.

    /watch?v=KfDq8weDLAY

  • Did Mormon begat moron as 'christian' begat 'cretin' i wonder ? Please advise me if you know, its been bothering me for a while now.. i dont want to call a creationist a moron when he/she is in fact a cretin, if youknowarrimean

  • Watch "The Secret Life Of Choas" its on Youtube somewhere and presents mathematical evidence for infinitly complex systems deriving from similar or simple sources (i.e. no need for designer, better luck on your next repackaging). Seriously its good

  • Anyone who could burn a kid's artwork is one sick sack of crap.

  • "because it's called science" is a much much much bigger statement than he thinks he just made. Also evolution is kind of backbone for all biology and zoology etc. It explains the similartiy and relationship between all kinds of life. Without it I suppose you'd have to throw away a lot of biology in general. So you can forget about advances in medicine and improvements in your standards of life

  • @collapseofthedollar

I see. If I refuse chickens descended from velociraptors, I must forgo velcro.

    Absolutely brilliant.

Tell me, how many patenets do you hold?

  • Christians are good at burning things.

  • And people. :/

  • @mikesinner69 Indeed they are. They're also good at pissing off innocent Muslim communities by burning their holy book, too!

  • It really isn't any wonder why so many people hate the idea of Evolution when a kid can't even paint a picture of it in a Friggin' Art Class without some Creationist being offended!

Can you imagine what would happen if a student painted a picture of a scene from the Bible, and an Atheist Teacher stole it burnt it! Creationists would probably have tried to burn the Atheist for it!

  • sho nuff

  • lol its funny looking at creationists flaming and arguing because they got their but kicked and handed back to them in court.

  • im sorry if you believe intelligent design is a SCIENTIFIC THEORY you're just plan stupid it cannot be TESTED, which is one of the basic principles of science

  • You dumbass. You complete dumbass. I would need time on the Hubble to see the furthest reaches of your dumbassed-ness.

Test millions of years. Repeat it. have a peer review on it.

    Dumbass.

  • It is interesting that a false dichotomy of 'Religion vs. Science' sometimes develops whenever religious claims are confronted (and demolished) by objective inquiry. The vast majority of well-educated Christians (and other religions) already do accept evolution. And a person being an "Evolutionist" is like being a "Heliocentrist".

The defeat of religiously-motivated rubbish such as Creationism or 'Intelligent Design' is a victory for rationality and secularism, not atheism specifically.

  • A chemist is a chemist. Chemistry does not dictate or otherwise prove millions of years.

Again, my point is science is science, and wild fantasy is wild fantasy. Evolution is wild fantasy, so much so that the storyline keeps changing...

  • That is a false dichotomy, I agree.

The true dichotomy is 'Religion vs. Religion,' one in which Evolution is one religion, and Creationism is another. Science can be used to validate or disprove either perspective.

The point is the words Evolution and Science are NOT interchangeable.

  • "The point is the words Evolution and Science are NOT interchangeable."

Science has validated the theory of evolution at every turn. You're either a troll or a retard.

Go watch shanedk's video series "How Evolution Is Scientific".

I have no more time to waste on the blind or the wilfully ignorant.

  • I thought Science required observation, repeatable experiments with consistent results, even discarding some hypothesis because of observed results.

I don't see this happening with Evolution theory.

Piltdown Man is a boar's tooth.

Every ancient dead monkey is the missing link.

"Every fetus looks the same" is a hoax.

Carbon dating methods from the 1950's is assumption built on assumption, and still in use. Evolution has grasped science as a tool.

Science is just fine without evolution.

  • Piltdown man didnt fool anybody except the french media, because the drawing did not represent the scientific consensus.

There are many missing links, the fossil record isn't perfect, but it does show a perfect transition, regardless of how many small holes there are.

Embryology is actually very well founded, and modern pictures are quite insightful, you should check them out.

Carbon dating is used because it DOES work, and of course it's based on assumptions, EVERYTHING IS.

  • @colec001 "I don't see this happening with Evolution theory"

Then you're not looking in the right places. Evolution isn't sweeping evidence under the carpet. Things that are hoaxes or mistaken for something else are discovered & fixed under peer review.

If your mind is made up about Evolution being wrong then it's too late. But if you want some facts then watch these:

    /watch?v=5nj587d5ies&feature=email

    /watch?v=i1fGkFuHIu0&feature=related

    /watch?v=-CvX_mD5weM&feature=rec-HM-fresh+div

  • absolute rubbish.

Did you pray for the computer to miraculously appear?

    Or modern heart surgery?

Science has shown time and time again that it is to be taken seriously because it has yielded amazing results that have benefitted us all.

It is not a religion because it is based on evidence - and has hence delivered the goods.

Religion has provided nothing except willful ignorance (I name you exhibit A) and wars and self-important idiocy with "faith" (zero thought) as a virtue.

  • I see that you, too, are under the impression that science is on trial here. It is not. Take a breath, clear your head, and repeat after me: "Science and Evolution are different words."

  • Evolution is science - one of the most supported Theories. More so than electricity and gravity.

The Theory that the world is round is less supported than evolution.

  • While your passion is apparent, your logic fails.

  • My Day at the Evolution Fair

Buoyancy related evolution projects are fun. They are based on the evolution of displacement, densities, and other evolution principles.

    ***

  • The Evolution Method

The Evolution Method is a logical and rational order of steps by which evolutionists come to conclusions about the world around them. The evolution Method helps to organize thoughts and procedures so that evolutionists can be confident in the answers they find. Evolutionists use observations, hypotheses, and deductions to make these conclusions, just like you will use the Evolution Method in your Evolution fair project.

  • Bigot

  • Galileo rings a bell?

  • No, that was Pavlov.

  • I was telling you galileo RINGS YOU a bell? Obviusly galileo could not have been a christian because he believed the sun was at the center of the solar sistem rather than the earth? The catholic church already experimented with galileo what you guys are experiencing with darwin. Need i remind you of your many failures in court? Evolution is science, it makes testable predictions which have been verified, thats the very essence of the scientific method. (later on vid 6 miller does show this)

  • Galileo was "a genuinely pious Roman Catholic."

    I know, weird, huh?

Perhaps you are in a fantasy world, too?

  • colec...I'm shocked... I'm truly shocked... do you really NOT KNOW what happened to galileo?

Ahh if it was true that ignorance is bliss then you guys indeed are happy but not because of god XD

  • You know one fact about Galileo.

    That is it?

How's that ignorance working out for ya'?

    -Happy?

  • @colec001 "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."

    -Albert Einstein

  • @gamesbok

    Einstein:

"I want to know God's thoughts; the rest are details."

"I am convinced that He (God) does not play dice."

"God is subtle but he is not malicious."

"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."

  • @colec001 -- "I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms."

    - Albert Einstein

  • ah so the founders of the "science" of id were lawyers..... fantastic

  • And what was Lyell?

  • judging by your other comment you don't know anything about the subject and insist on arguing without a firm foundation. even typing the word evolutionist tells me you're a scientific illiterate

  • You assume all scientists endorse Evolution.

    This is not the case.

    Hence the distinction.

    Thanks for the insults.

  • How many scientists do not accept evolutionary theory? What were or are their respective fields?

  • Do you own homework, else keep your mind shut.

  • I was actually trying to get you to do yours.

  • Do yor own homeworks, else keep your mouth shout. If you had a bit of a smarter mind you would realize that other countries don't study history the way you americans study it. For example in italy the average person knows about 2 of the 50 or so presidents of america while you probably can tell us all their names on memory, on the other hand we can tell you about our artists/scientists lives easily. It doesn't take much to realize each country studies its own history...

  • BTW do they teach about galileo's history in biology classes there where you live? If so i understand why you guys never understand biology, you take history classes in biology classes XD

  • Colec ever heard of project steve? If not all scientists then the percentage is easily above the 95% and in biology its easy that the percentage is above 99%, there are only quarreals about how what is the main force driving evolution if it is mainly believed to be natural selection tough other factors might be relevant

About galileo, i live in his country, in high school i studied his life instead of studying who the hell was abram lincholn, i don't go claim stuff about him like you do ;)

  • You might live in his country, but that doesn't make you two "tight." You could live in a garage, but that wouldn't make you a PEUGEOT engineer.

I think you heard of his persecution in biology class, not of his life in history class.

  • I heard of his persecution in history class :P as well of his life, his inventions, the good deeds of the church of that time, the story of copernicus. Living in italy means being up to date with church's view on that for example Ratzinger before becoming pope was driven out by one of our universities (la sapienza) because he went there to apologize for misdoings of the church to galileo instead his speech contained diffamatory quotes. So much for being humble?

  • Lyell was a lawyer, too. Darwin was reading his book on the Beagle. Lyell's layers and fossils and ages are still in use today. Lyell was an atheist. Darwin's formal training was in theology.

    Science. Pure science.

  • I like how all of their "expert" witnesses did a runner.

  • They were poorly equipped, it's true. Pat yourself on the back for beating a retard.

  • I wouldn't call you that yet.

  • wow. This series is just blowing me away. I actually thought it was around 10% of people who thought ID was a science, not the numbers mentioned here.

  • Was this video hit by a vote bot? Damn Creationist morons!

  • Looking at Intelligent Design objectively, it seems to be psuedo-science to me...like astrology and eugenics.

  • That's because IT IS :D

  • why doesn't eugenics work?

  • @diomedes39 Eugenics doesn't work because nobody knows what will constitute 'fitness' in an unpredictable world. The gene that predisposes towards scycle cell anemia also protects against malaria. Do you want it in or out? Nazi eugenics would have produced blond, blue eyed Herrenvolk who would all have been dead from melanoma cancer in this world of thinning ozone protection.

  • @gamesbok All that Eugenics means is to purposefully manipulate genes in a population through selective breeding. The Nazi's did try to use Eugenics to make supermen but that speaks nothing about the effectiveness of the theory. Besides, not all of us pale people have melanoma haha.

  • @diomedes39 Germans are tall and blond and blue-eyed, but not as tall and blond and blue-eyed as they think they are, especially when they are short, dark Austrians with a sense of destiny.

Eugenics has proven successful in giving us livestock, but anyone who has payed the vets bills for a thoroughbred might look at hybred vigour with envy. Attempting to narrow the gene pool is fraught with hazard.

  • @gamesbok Again, that doesn't really matter but I don't feel like arguing about this.

  • Heathens! Blasphemer! Burn the witch!

Sounds like the dark ages doesn't it?

  • Yep, only now the shoe is on the other foot. Facts be damned, burn the Christian!

  • Ok, so like Aliens could have created us!!!!!!!!

  • why do they insist on comparing none living objects (which don't evolve) with living thing (which do evolve).

  • Show me. Darwin found finches. whole varieties of finches. he thought they were evolved, but the birders back in merry old England said they were all finches.

    Instead of writing "Adaptations,"

    Darwin wrote "Origins"

-Just who is bending the facts to their will, here?

  • This has nothing to due with my original comment

  • S.P.E.C.I.F.I.E.D.

Annoying Creationist Really Only Nauseating Young-earth Moron

  • Thank goodness ;) they have teachers dedicated enough to fight for the rights, education and dignity of their students.

  • They have church and religious schools if the market dictates them necessary. Science class in public school is for facts not fantastical conjecture.

  • What the heck all is this "Other Alternative Theories" Bullshit?

There are hundreds of different Theories out there, but Evolution is the only that has evidence to back it up!

Creationists need to get this whole Evolution=No God thing out of their heads!

  • Preach that to the "fellow" Evolutionists you think you share company with. You might be suprised...

  • How can that guy @ 1:37 look in a mirror and

not see that he has definitely evolved from

    monkeys......I mean.....please!

  • I know...I know...

  • The biggest problem for Creationists is which creation story would be adopted; Baha'i, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Animism, Jainism, Zoroastrianism, Scientology, Cai Dai, etc

What the ID proponents are really saying is that they want THEIR version peddled over all other faith-based versions, the irony being most Christians don't even accept that version.

On the other hand, there is only one evolution story based on the data.

  • The evolution story began with finches. Finches. Not turkeys descended from Finches. The story was laid out first, then data was assimilated to support the model. -Did you know Dino DNA must be related to chicken DNA, else it is discarded? Why? PREDUDICE.

  • that is just lazy

  • lol, i always knew the CIA was behind evolution.

  • I had a person pushing that "intelligent agent" line to me once. When I asked if it was possible that the intelligent agent could be an alien species rather than a supernatural being, they said no. When I asked why not, they couldn't give me an answer and instead started quoting scripture. The spychology at work here is really startling.

  • what does spychology mean? I've never heard the word before.

  • The thing that gets me most about "not believing" in evolution is this:

Once you understand the history, you have to be aware that human beings were not the first, nor will we be the last dominant species on our planet. The sun's got a good 13-billion years or so left in her.

Why deny yourself the true riddles of the universe?

  • Because when people see something fantastic they are desperate to see something that fantastic in their lives.

The real problem here is that creationists look at themselves as the good guys. & in every fantasy story there are villians.

  • The moral of this story, run for your local school board. Pay attention to what they're doing with your children.

  • Thx for posting this vid.

  • Pitiful people, wasted so much money on such stupid trial.

  • How petty are you when you have to burn a kids drawings because it offends your worldview.

  • haha..so true

  • I know. It says a lot, doesn't it?

  • Is this whole series of videos JUST about the trial?

  • Some of these i.d. guys must have some serious poker faces to be able to say what they do and not break down laughing. Guess Bill Maher is right, if you don't add 'lol' to your statement it must be true.

  • I could not agree more. I can't believe I use to be one of those nutjobs

  • "Amen, brother" ;D

  • Religious fanatics like Bill Buckingham need to be kept out of power.
