I've got a number of separate accounts from students, staff, professors and my own personal experience that would indicate to me that your experience is more truth then fiction.

He then told them they would all have to stand around an 8-foot-square planter. There are 8 team members, and Kortney knew that just wouldnt work. So Joey went to the on-campus police station to talk to Chief Ramirez. He explained that confining 8 people to that space was unreasonable and impractical.
The small area was not adequate to accommodate the group, & according to the administration the free speech area included the entire quad. Joey asked the chief on what authority he was making this rule. The chief mocked him saying, Im the Chief of Police, and I decided this & stop being insubordinate.

After talking with the administration they set up their signs in the free speech area and began distributing literature. A police officer approached the team to inform them that they could engage in free speech activities, but asked them to move to the other side of the quad in order to separate the two groups that would be occupying the quad.

The small area was not adequate to accommodate the group, & according to the administration the free speech area included the entire quad. Joey asked the chief on what authority he was making this rule. The chief mocked him saying, Im the Chief of Police, and I decided this & stop being insubordinate.
Joey kept trying to reason with the uncooperative chief, & finally said he wasnt sure he could comply but that he would talk with the team.

Yes he did. Nobody in this video was resisting arrest. The guy in blue has every right to speak, and did nothing to physically interfer in the arrest. The guy in white IS guilty of assault the moment he chose to lay his hands on the guy who was NOT under arrest and committed no crime. He did NOT properly identify himself which requires name, rank and badge number and showing his badge.

Calling this "Unprovoked Police Brutality" is a huge stretch, both because there isn't police brutality and because there is provocation in the video.

Lightup, in this case it doesn't really matter what led up to it - 1-the plain clothes failed to identify himself, 2-once inside the office, force was not warranted, 3-blocking the windows as thiey attempted to do tells one that they KNEW they were doing something wrong and were trying to keep it from being seen/documented.
