Am I the newest member of the Joe Travers fan club? It really doesn't matter-he probably blows people away every day. Have been a student of Inca Roads for twenty years-parts one and two. And seen Frank play it live. This band deliver.
The drummer is the always amazing Joe Travers. I've seen the band 4 times now and the performances are stellar, and Joe's playing of this outrageously difficult material is absolutely perfect (and he sings complex back-up and lead vocals while playing as well...it's nuts!).
@JonteJH2 Man, I gotta say after looking over the tune a few more times I think it IS Portnoy on drums. What are the odds of someone who lools so much like him and is so adept at covering drum lines from other artists (which D T is known for) not being him? His stick motion and grip (far to the butt end of the stick) also seem to be portnoy. Even if this is not him, whoever it is has my respect. I have tried to cover the song's drumming on numerous occasions and failed.
The keyboardist may have a terrible hair-do but he sure can play. Sweet. Would love to've seen the original band play this. Old Ruthie Underwood was surely one of the best percussionists out there
It's amazing to watch Dweezil accompanying all the vibe parts on guitar. But the keyboard solo is the highlight on part 2. He teases, with whispers of George Duke throughout, but truly gets in a TON of his own chops. I'm a guitarist, but I was mucho impressed.
Wow!! Respect to Dweezil!! He took time out, reinvented his guitar technique & put a lot of effort into learning his dad´s wonderful & extremely difficult compositions. This is my all-time favourite Zappa piece.
Keyboards, bass and drums section stole the tune!.....O.K it was all amazing!

I can almost detect some Bernie Worrell influences in part of the solo. Might just be the tone, but it's definitely reminiscent of him.

They are all incredibly talented, but joe travers is amazing. If the world was fair, n.m.b. Would be a huge star

I got goose bumps from that.
I think it's Aaron Arntz who played the krazy keyboards solo.
It's so right with the Universe that Napoleon Murphy Brock is doing the vocals.
If you don't have the ZPZ dvd, get it.
