Quick note: leopards live with several other badger species in Asia (e.g. the hog badger), and have been known to kill them as well. However, the honey badger is the only badger species that is sympatric with leopards in Africa.

Many good points in the video. Wild animals are usually intelligent about expenditure of energy. Much of the type it's not whether they think they can't win just knowing you'll put up a fight will deter them, unless desperate. I don't think this leopard will be going after badgers again soon.

There are and always have been humans who have survived attacks by all types of animals- just as impressive a feat as any honey badger. 100% a badger..........But I think this proves the badger's dominance. This was on old blind and nearly toothless badger and female. She gave the leopard an hour long fight. A healthy badger could have thwarted the attack if not killed the Leopard. Badgers are the most fierce animal in the animal kingdom.

If anything, this video is a testament to how badass the honey badger truly is. The leopard is like what four times the size of the badger, not to mention its an old half blind badger. And it still took the leopard an hour to kill. The honey badger, truly natures badass. What a pain to kill. I consider it still an urban legend about the lion. As far as being scared of the badger, if your that hungry it's life or death. I remember one show on either NatGeo or Discovey a pride of lions taking down an elephant. They may have had the pride with them, but was still very risky.

Considering it's a myth that honey badgers have killed a lion... there are like millions of videos of lions and other predators hunting and I haven't seen any impressive one that shows anything hunting honey badger...
