  • I use crayons and a dry travel iron!! A heck of a lot cheaper too! x

  • The most amazing thing is the dot matrix paper. I haven't seen that in 15 years. Incredible! Thanks for sharing!

  • Pretty cool! I love suggested detail!

  • John, where the heck did you get that nifty iron - I can't find an iron like it anywhere!

  • @CoxJoxSox I get my equipment from Wakes Waxes (waxes. co. uk) and Arts Encaustic (encaustic. com), but I don't know if they deliver outside the UK.

If you're US-based, I think Dick Blick (sp?) do Encaustic equipment.

    Failing that - eBay.

Art is about finding new methods of doing things. There is no set way to do a certain thing. Cheers.

  • Nice video but it as too short.

  • thats sick

  • Is it possible to melt crayons for this purpose? I love the wax look. I have some bees wax, however I don't know what to do with it yet.

    Cilla

  • You can use a travel iron ( but not the ones with steam holes) and if it has a non-stick surface you will need to sand it off.

The purpose made irons have a better thermostat.

  • wher can i buy 1 of these irons?!?!?!

  • Walmart, Kmart, General Dollar. It's just a travel iron - the kind you can pack in your suitcase.

  • oh! its not a special type of iron?!?! ah thats so much better cuz i could only find really expensive ones online!!! thanks a million!!!!

well, except we dont have any of those shops in ireland, but if its just a regular travel iron i can get one of those easily!!!!!!

    thanks so much!!!
