This is still thee most popular piano piece since 1955 by Roger Williams~ who recently passed, I think its beautiful ... I was thinking of this piece because everyday when i walk my dogs ~ i enjoy all the different colors of the beautiful leaves this yr. red, yellow. gold, blk. !

Roger died Saturday, October 8 just as the leaves begin to turn here on Lake Erie. Your video beautifully complements Roger's interpretation of "Autumn Leaves"

Originally it was a 1945 French song "Les Feuilles mortes" (literally "The Dead Leaves") with music by Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert. The American songwriter Johnny Mercer wrote English lyrics in 1947. - from "Wikipedia."

Roger Williams, known as "the Pianist to the Presidents" for his White House performances, died on Saturday Oct 8 2011 in his California home after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer, his former publicist said. He was 87.

This became popular when I was 16 years old, and was on tv many time along with mant other great pieces of music. This one seems to have a haunting beauty.

Stupid music was always around, but when Elvis came along, it was like a bull in a china shop. Music like this began to become scarce.

Your singing of this song has the true beauty of the song, complete with it's subtelty.

I have the original 78 of "Autumn Leaves" and it was the very first record by Roger Williams to hit #1 in 1955 and sold a million copies. Roger Williams had arrived, and it became the first artist to helped launched Kapp Records.
