I was in a couple of bands with Simon in the 80s and the main reason to be there was that we were making music I would have bought anyway. I have no idea why he isn't more well known. One of my all time favorite song writers.Someone who really understands what he is doing and a genuine musical genius.I still play all the stuff we did back then (a bit more electro than the new stuff) and it holds up and surpasses alot of the new crowd on a shed load of levels. Looking forward to anything new.
That's great news Richard. I've loved Waiting Rooms dearly ever since it came out. And no small part of it was down to your brilliant arrangements. I will buy at least one copy of the new album as soon as it's released - no question. (Just bought a 2nd copy of Waiting Rooms, as I have become a victim of 'mysteriously empty jewel case syndrome').
Great to see some fans out there! I WAS with Simon in the studio recording the second album and have a rough mix of the whole thing. It's part recorded (one third real instruments: drums, bass, strings, one third guide tracks: keyboards, vocals, guitars and one third samples: (orchestra, choir and ethnic instruments) and the mixes vary from exciting to mere jobbing. But it is a masterpiece and a concept album of tragic beauty and degradation and quite as bleak as Die WInterreise.

It's not fair, I would have paid the man hundreds of pounds to get in the studio and record his second album demo, but he wouldn't come out.
