What you don't realize is that writing a song around a chorus doesn't take any skill whatsoever after so many bands have done so. These bands play truly complex songs with some of the most technically advanced time signatures possible. Guttural vocals are some of the hardest vocals to preform on a nightly basis without doing permanent damage to the vocal cords and double bass kicking in many death metal bands takes months of practice in order to build up the muscles to do it sufficiently.

I like Death Metal but one thing I would say that is "wrong" in that style is exacly the limits the style puts to itselfe playing that kind of way and no other... It's all the same, all high-speed, all with the same screams...I like it, but they have no variety...it's just monotonous, always the same rithm, the same pace, the same screams, blastbeats all over the place...

The pace can actually vary pretty radically. Listen to "Pain Divine" by Morbid Angel, and then "Where the slime live" by the same band. The vocals, too, vary more than just a bit. Listen to these three songs; "Soulless" by Grave, "Zombie Ritual" by Death and "Hammer smashed face" by Cannibal Corpse. Now rethink what you just wrote.

has any of you got some DESULTORY videos? i have seen a compilation of metal videos called THE TEN COMMANDMENTS and it includes desultory in it..i was planning to buy that video for the next day coz i forgot to bring money but when i came back to the record store..shit the video was sold out! INTO ETERNITY is a great album but i wondered why they changed their style during BITTERNESS i think that's their 2nd LP.and even the vocals.but its not bad at all.
