  • Jon Delbrugge is my fucking hero

  • Ummbro: A near submission is generally awarded an advantage, not two points. LionPride: This makes sense having to establish some form on contact prior to sitting. I was kind of thinking that, but was never sure as some events and ref's are more laxed then others about numerous rules.

  • Ok (1) Why is Jon being asked to stand back up? At the point that both fighters are set to go, you should have the option to pull / sit guard as long as you are not avoiding contact (i.e. – backing away). (2) Where is Jon's 2 points for sweep for the failed leg lock attempted by Wing?, and (3) why was Wing awarded points like it was a sweep? At best Wing should have been awarded an advantage for forcing Delbrugge to rotate out of the lock. I see this as a J.B 9 points and Wing 1 Advantage

  • @wwwYMMAAcom good fight... the final score was 9 to 2 jon did get 2 points for the sweep at the end, wing got 2 points for the submission attempt

You can't just sit to the mat with no tie up. If you have a tie up, even grabbing your opponent's hands, and you sit, fine, he has to engage. But if you have no tie up and sit down the the mat, the opponent has no obligation to follow you there. This is a good rule, IMO, just as they penalize a takedown expert for standing up and disengaging from a groundfighter's guard, they take away the guard player's ability to just sit down without touching their opponent on the feet.

  • technical mastery!
