Another of the 10 commandments was 'thou shalt not kill', if you are stoning somebody to death then that's violating that commandment isn't it? What I am uncertain of is how the Qur'an is the word of Allah if the original Bible was lost. However, just because the Qur'an has the same principles as the original Bible does not mean it is the word. The word of God is the original copy of the Bible, which was misplaced, but there is one copy of Isa's teachings and is in Israel.

Although Jesus Peace be upon him is the ideal Jew in other words he upheld it to the law and practiced it as he was commanded by his God which is our god. Jesus says to all those that ask him for eternal life and he explicitly says to all of them on 3 or 5 instances: "If you love me keep the commandments" and Jesus never says that there will be a time when this will change or be null and void!

As for the sacrificial laws it is clear from both the Hebrew scriptures & New testament they had fulfilled their purposes in Jesus sacrifice. The confusion comes from the fact that Jews who believe in Christ and pagans non Jew who became Christians are not to follow the same laws.

@6630mcdo Yes no one knows what Jesus actually wrote, but it is quite clear that the author is making reference to Jeremiah 17:13 since, the Gospel of John has plenty of references & allusions to the Hebrew scriptures instead of using quotes + the religious leader goal is not to judge the adulterous by the law but rather by doing so trapping Jesus and get him to a lot of troubles; in other words to discredit Him and his message of salvation.

All the stories in the Bible sound like the mythical stories before it. From Hinduism, Buddhism, pagan religions, etc..All religions taught that they have a soul, that they should pray and worship their deity a special way, that their is a heaven/hell, etc...stories of miracles, of spirits coming to them guiding them on what to do. Sacrificing was a big part of all pagan religious practice. The Mayans sacrificed humans to do the God's will. Natural events were described as the God's doing, etc..

What I am uncertain of is how the Qur'an is the word of Allah if the original Bible was lost. However, just because the Qur'an has the same principles as the original Bible does not mean it is the word. The word of God is the original copy of the Bible, which was misplaced, but there is one copy of Isa's teachings and is in Israel.

@6630mcdo Yes no one knows what Jesus actually wrote, but it is quite clear that the author is making reference to Jeremiah 17:13 since, the Gospel of John has plenty of references & allusions to the Hebrew scriptures instead of using quotes + the religious leader goal is not to judge the adulterous by the law but rather by doing so trapping Jesus and get him to a lot of troubles; in other words to discredit Him and his message of salvation.

(Jeremiah 17.13) But, I also read a book that said Y'shua (Jesus) wrote the names of all of the women that the women's accusers had slept with. (Because they were accusing the women of adultery) I don't know if its true, but I really liked it when I read it. It makes sense though, because Jesus was always exposing hypocrisy...

@Fratimusic Well not necessarily, Papias (an early church father of the first half of the second century) referred to such a story in the gospel of the hebrews a century before our earliest manuscript of the gospel of john + keep in mind that oldest manuscript doesn't most reliable since you can do an quick reserach and you will find out that interpolations are found sometimes in older manuscript not found in recent one so in conclusion the debate is still going hoping to find more evidence...

@Fratimusic I think the passage was original in his rightful place because it fits perfectly well in theology, style and the passages before and after the story, if you want I could explain to you more via email + asterisks marks are found in its rightful place in early fragments containing that particular passage + asterisks marks don't mean interpolation but rather a passage was available at that time confirming the passage existed at the time of our oldest fragments in other copies

Also have you seen the different versions of the book of Isaiah (proof of it being man made, editing) and many other books of the Bible found not in the cannon ? the Dead Sea Scrolls were almost a complete rewrite of the Bible to iron out the mistakes in the Bibles editing. Also why does the Bible tell the same stories twice in weird ways ? really bad editing...

@QuiteNot Religions come and go, but the Word of God remains forever. And God wrote the Bible through men. These men had the Holy Spirit to guide them. And the big question did God create man? Or did man create God? The idea of God is not really practical but it should be implicit that He does exist through the Earth,the complex and perfect Universe, and through the Person of Jesus Christ. And that He divinely intervenes with our daily lives.

When a person is mentally weak by human standards they are perfect and innocent in the eyes of god, when a person has a disease and suffer they are loved greatly by God and the way in which they carry the suffering can bring them closer to God. All the stories in the Bible sound like the mythical stories before it. From Hinduism, Buddhism, pagan religions, etc..All religions taught that they have a soul, that they should pray and worship their deity a special way, that their is a heaven/hell, etc...stories of miracles, of spirits coming to them guiding them on what to do. Sacrificing was a big part of all pagan religious practice. The Mayans sacrificed humans to do the God's will. Natural events were described as the God's doing, etc..

So christ had to be a blood sacrifice...not of bulls and goats in the old testament..so God had to come down himself as Christ to fulfill the law because no man can ever do it.He loves us so much and wants to embrace us from the very start.Abraham and Joseph lived before the law and it was all in pure grace.He who knew no sin became sin.HIs name is Jesus.
