Nice, but I have a few sets of these for the 1/48 VF-1's. I think these go for around $40, don't they? Man, that's too much. I think the Super/Strike set goes for that much.
Yeah, you're right, the set of Super & Strike Parts for 1/60 Valks costs about $40. This covers are indeed over priced. I don't own these... I agree, they cost too much for what they are. I think they're pretty cool, but they're way over priced.
If you go to macrossworld, you can see that they were available for the 1/48. This was only through a Dengeki Hobby magazine mail-in campaign. Do you think you could direct me to a hobby shop of some sort that would be willing to make a transparent mold of the original? Who would specialize in this sort of thing?
Whoops! Didn't see your comment. Just left one about the 1/48 version being a Dengeki Hobby exclusive, too. So, you want a transparent mold of ALL the armor parts? Not sure if that would look good. The thing about the clear parts is that they are just covers parts. When removed, they show the detail underneath. In the case of the clear versions, you can see the detail through the parts. Clear parts of the rest of the armor would just show unattractive plastic joints and pegs, not real detail.
Actually, they were released for the 1/48's. They pop up on eBay from time to time. I have a few sets myself. I think they were a Dengeki Hobby mag exclusive a few years ago. I was able to get a few sets from a Macross World member who lived in Japan and was able to order them for other members.
Wow! That's cool. I didn't know there were clear covers for 1/48 Valks! (I'm gonna need to spend more time at the forums!).
I agree with what you say about about a set with "all" parts of the set being clear. It'd really look kind of funny, showing the plastic joints, pegs, and stuff. I'm yet to get a set of these... these are really not on my priority list. I'm still battling to get more 1/60 Valks... I'd love to have them all, but can't buy them all at once! Anyhow, thanks for sharing man.
i just realised something......this video is called "fast pack covers....."
does this mean that THIS PARTICULAR item is only the clear cover? and does not include the actual fast pack? like say if i was to get this thing on ebay or YAJ, would i only receive the cover, thus making it useless until i get a VF that comes with the fastpack, so that i can replace the cover?
extremely confused now, and very worried. because i'm currently bidding on this thing at ebay.
Yes, as far as I know you only get the covers, not the whole set. Technically speaking, if you don't already have a Fast Pack set for your Valk, you will have no place to put the clear covers...
If I were you I would contact the seller and ask to be sure... (although I am pretty sure you will only get the covers). I hope that helps.
I get newsletters from Overdrive and they said they're selling em for 33 a pop. You have to email them if you want em; for some reason they cant post em up on their website.
I'm still thinking about it... I'm pretty sure they're not going to sell the clear parts on their own. You'll probably have buy a hole FAST Pack Set for who knows how much. We'll see.
I hear you man, I'm not fully convinced about them either. They look... "different" (for lack of a better word). I think is nice Yamato is release them, though. It gives fans different options. Thanks for comment.

Where did you get yours from for the 1/48. I am trying to find some.

There are none. These clear covers are only for 1/60 scale Valks.

Oh no. I'm not talking about a mold of the whole thing. Just the covers like the ones shown in this video, that's all.

Yes, I know what you mean.

At least it keeps the micro-missiles in place.

Yes. The nice thing about this bad boys is that you get to see how accurate the Valk architecture is.
