  • somebody get this guy some clothes that fit!!

  • today u think its still possible to get eng teaching job in japan

  • So you say in the description that you can't have visible tattoos? Like what about one on my neck it's on the left and is small,

Will they say no to that because I got it for my 18th birthday. And I do have a full arm tattoo (right arm) which goes from my shoulder to my wrist which is visible when I wear a short sleeve t-shirt, but when I wear a long one or a suit you can't see! Will that affect my chances?

  • thats cool

  • Do i need a degree in English alone or can I also have a degree in Philosophy instead and be qualified to teach English in Japan, China, Taiwan, Korea etc?

  • that's awesome!!

  • When you say no visible tattoos, does that mean I can just wear a long sleeved shirt all the time? I have some tattoos on my arms but if I would be wearing like regular office clothes you wouldnt be able to see them

  • This is really cool. Very informative :-)

  • Sorry if you already mentioned this in one of your videos, but which company did you go through?

  • "Sally shut the hell up." Instant Classic...

  • Japanese want people who they can manipulate and push them out of the country after the contract is over.

  • Do I need a BS Degree to teach in Japan or is a TEFL Certificate good enough??

  • @mmarcello11 you need a degree 98%

  • @messypro1 What if you are 18 and still studying for your degree?

Also I hear in China it's about 50/50 for needing a degree, most just require TEFL don't they ??

  • ...horrible outfit

  • @85Damix thanks for the comment

  • You lucky bastard.

  • Man that dude got a fucken job.....I had to get a degree.

  • Luda Chris teaching japs how to rap lol jk

  • Sally shut the hell up, was a great line! Sorry the two teaching companies did not except you, you are a great vblogger. Good job taking charge and going to Japan for work. Thanks for posting you are naturally funny. I am enjoying your story.

  • I did group interviews and EVERYONE was like Jim Carey on drugs! Dead on man, dead on! I should have practiced juggling, or something equally lame, before entering the room.

  • HAHA Dave Chappelle! You remind me too much of him! Your a funny guy

  • Hey, is this the guy missing in the Japan quake? his mom is looking for him on the news. This guy looks a lot like him.

  • @CaptCamping no im not missing , i have been posting videos everyday lol

can you give me more information about the missing guy , maybe i can help

  • He looks like a gangsta... not like a teacher!

  • Could they check if I used a fake degree?

  • POKEMON ROCKS :P

  • did you have to have an english degree or just a degree in general

  • did u have a degree when u applied for the job :)

  • @GenyaArikado Thanks for taking the time to write a comment .

  • @messypro1 Don't be mad, i was just overreacting a little. I was kinda cranky that day i said it ^^ !

  • @GenyaArikado He speaks perfectly.

  • @GenyaArikado Wow. Could you be a little more racist next time? I know I'd definitely want you teaching my kids English.

  • @coinbird1 How can i be racist if i'm swedish and like asian people ?

  • haha gaspanic in roppongi i was there few years ago! bit sleazy tho

  • @redblazerpea yea it is lol

  • completely wrong! is too difficult to work in japan! bllsht

its easy only for eng / usa ppl who doesnt speak any language except own, quite lucky i guess! doesnt matter if they have degree or not company needs them and so provide them visa.many of those"special teachers"in own country maybe will be a simple public toilet cleaners!!

for other foreigners is really hard, company need high level of japanese and immigrations is crab, doesnt give visa! u have to find any other way to enter in japan!

  • that hat looks like pokemon!

  • @kbaptiste28 lol , i actully made another hat that is called the "pokemon" :)

  • I have a degree, I am not a native English speaker, but I do speak English fluently, what do you think? would it still be possible to get a job?

  • @epecholdas where are you from ? i seen alot of teachers from different countries

  • @messypro1 I am from a small country called Lithuania. But I've lived in the UK for 4 years, next year I am going to apply for British citizenship.

  • what about 3 year degrees from the UK

  • @EpicMargo

im not sure about that , but i will find out .

in the states its a 4yr degree

  • Being an "assistant language teacher" in Japan is the equivalent of being that bald black guy from Sesame street. Maybe Bert and Ernie should apply for the job too

  • @Howhowhowdy

Time to bring in REAL instructors from India and the Philippines who LEARNED THE ENGLISH language. Of course, qualified instructors whether from Canada, America, Britain are always welcome.

  • @Howhowhowdy the hell does that mean?

  • if i have a degree in elementary education with a minor in psychology could this bbe for me?

  • My daughter is 3.5 :) sorry so late responding but I'm still thinking about it

  • Love your video! You're funny! I'm going to teach in Japan and well as Indonesia once I finish my bachelor's. Keep us posted of what you do!

  • hey man what degree do you need to do this?

  • @Timeyful you need a 4 yr degree in any subject and to be from an english speaking place

  • @messypro1 Thanks :D

  • Haha you got the job because all Nihongo ladies love Black people!

  • Haha you got the job because of Nihongo ladies love Black people!

  • What kind of degree do you need ? Bachlors ? Major ?

  • Or.. they might ask you not to come to class.. that happens -- lmfao

  • teaching English only last like 2 years am i right ? what will you do when you dont have a job anymore ? what permanent job is there in japan for non Japanese ?

  • FUCK. I short change on Requirement #4 xD

  • When you say degree, what Major are we talking about?

Do you mean ANY degree or a degree that's generally focused on English or a degree specifically for teaching English?

I know it might sound like a weird question, by the Japanese can be a weird people lol. At least from an American's perspective.

  • @BloodPlusPwn that's exactly what i was thinking as well. haha

  • @BloodPlusPwn

LOL! Yes any degree since my people are clueless when it comes to who is qualified or who is not... Never ceases to amaze me when so called "Senseis" come to my country to teach English thinking they are this and that but they are actually mcEikaiwa Sensei Clowns. Of course, not all of them are Clowns but I've seen way too many Clowns in Tokyo though....

  • @novajoke what do you mean by clowns?

  • @fepenico

    mcEikaiwa Sensei Clowns.

  • @BloodPlusPwn When you say degree, what Major are we talking about?

    ### ANY degree is fine. You'll go through a training process and you're on your way. Most of teaching is love for the job and the students, plus good charisma. So people from all walks of live can be a good teacher.

  • Yo man what's up I wanna tell you all your videos have been really helpful, keep up the good work! I have some questions I really wanna ask you, you got an email or something I could have? Btw I subscribed on your page ;)

  • yeah exactly

go to Japan and then get a job

That's what I have just done.

Infact I start training this friday!!!!!!!!!

  • a black man cant teach english, they can only teach ebonics lol j/k man ive always wanted to goto japan, but never thought to teach english, im jealous :P

  • I want to bring my child can I? Im looking now. Just earned my masters in education.

  • @ARTHEROPY

theirs no rules against it however you have to keep in mind that your child will have to go to a Japanese school. unless your child is fluent he or she might have a very hard time doing great in school. however this shouldn't be a problem for say a 5-8 year old? they tend to pick up languages easily. unfortunately a teen will have quite a hard time, but thats not to say they wont love every moment of it :P

  • I thought you're there to teach them english, not ebonics...

  • I want to teach English in Japan! So, you're doing exactly what I want to do! So...PROPS!

  • lol

  • Why do you wear your hat sideways?

  • @neomysterio it blocks the radiation from the sun :)

  • @messypro1 HAHA! You should wear two, the other one angled the other way. That way the sun get blocked evenly on both sides =)

  • @neomysterio sounds like a plan :)

  • Considering applying through Interac for this August - thanks for this!

  • @evadwolrab no problem

    good luck

  • thanks for the highly informative vid! really cool that u put it in a simple manner too !

  • u cnt just get to the fuckin point

  • does it need to be a 4 year degree or does it just need to be a degree?

  • thanks 4 all fa info!!!! ...

  • @thelittlejennie with spelling like this you won't get hired!

  • If the kids crying, I'll give them something to cry about! Haha. That made me laugh and it sounds like me. This kid is crying, someone get me my shoe!

  • If anyone wants a TESOL accreditaiton course, i can teach it to you online with its accreditation from the U.S. If you don't have a univeristy degree, yes, this one will help you and make a stronger credit of when you want to land a teaching job abroad like in Japan, Asia, etc. Our certificates are now being used by a lot in China, whether they're native speakers, Asians and even by Africans. As short as less than a week you can finish this course. Contact me if interested.

  • You should get an Ash Ketchum style hat.

  • hey messpro i am going to do a private teaching course via a private college...will that give me good prospects ? i dont have any uni degree :(

  • Try and find a TEFL course. It isn't university or college, it is an independent thing, You go on a short course and then get the qualifications to teach English abroad!

  • @Nebelwerfer89

No need to come unless you're serious about teaching. We got enough mcEikaiwa sensei Clowns in Japan already. I use "We" since I'm Japanese with an attitude. Yes I can speak well. I school mcEikaiwa Sensei Clowns in Tokyo. Unless you can handle that, then come on over! Oh yeah no degree so get you degree first.

  • @novajoke Who said i was not serious about teaching? Do you want some kind of medal ? Been told by many not to bother with teaching in japan as the people tend to be racist towards non japanese. I already have done my private course and will be teaching in Taiwan

  • @Nebelwerfer89

Hey I didn't say teach in Japan as long as you don't party like mcEikaiwastar, Clowns. You should be teaching English to ILLEGALS. in the States! Aren't you sick and tired of your country taken over by SPANISH speaking people. Have you been to MEXIfornia, especially in Los Angeles??

  • Why negative comments? I'm just telling the truth. I think America is falling apart.

    One

    Big

    Ass

    Mistake

    America!

  • u seen my uncle

  • Ignorance is bliss :(

Keep up the good work messpro, 頑張れ!

  • I actually like the way you talk. You kinda tangent off to the side and come back to the actual topic. You're a great story-teller.

  • Thank you for taking the time to write your thought on my video :)

  • novajoke you're a joke

  • novajoke, I agree what you are saying 95% with the exception of Obama, he is definitely not a pimp or clown. Like you, I am very suprised at the brotha in this video. I am an African American woman, 45 years old, and I am so tired of seeing Black men dress like a street thug and sounding like they have a 8th grade. I see enough of them on the Chicago evening news. I think the recruiters of these programs need to screen people more closely; especially the Blackmen from the United States.

  • Thanks for the input!! I see them all over Tokyo! Japan needs to stop bringing in mcEikaiwa Sensei Clowns from English speaking countries! There needs to be a standard as to why can/cannot teach but it's my people who are stupid to hire based on "appearance" or just because he/she is a native speaker. Obama gone to D.C. and Oprah going away. What;s going on with Chicago?? Ok you like Obama but what's up with listening to Jeremiah Wright for all these years?

  • @Vford

I'm a little puzzled at your comment. I'm guessing you never learned the proverb of never judging a book by its cover, because I don't see how a black woman can any way condone let alone participate in the stereotyping of a young black male simply because of the way he is dressed. So what if Messypro1 has a tilted hat and collared shirt and he doesn't speak with the same vernacular as Obama does. Does that make him any less intelligent? No! Does that make him a thug? Uhm no!

  • Wow vFord43 do you dislike your own heritage??? And where are you finding this 95% of black men are thugs Bullshit! And know I'm not a black male (I'm African American woman) as well...You need to get a gripe and STOP talking down on black man because its easy for you. because YOU need a scapegoat...

  • Let's give him some credit for being an African American male that has a degree and is not in jail/prison. I would rather see more of this guy than the real thugs that are busy "stealing eggs from a hard workers basket."

  • You learn English by living in English speaking country whether it's in America, Brit, Canada, Australia, Jamaica, Singapore, India, etc.

  • Great video.

  • This is so fascinating. I've been looking at programs advertised on craigslist about teaching in Japan but I've been hesitant since I know so little about everything.

Thanks for talking about the process and everything. Shows it's not as easy as the sites make it sound

  • hows the smoke over there?

  • nice video! i got sucked into your story! you are a good story teller!

  • thanks

  • I was told I have to get an ESL degree, a teacher's certificate, and teach 4 years in america to get ESL certification. Can I just get Teacher's certificate and ESL certificate? Do I have to do 4 years of teaching to get ESL cert.?

  • I don't have one so I'm really don't know. I have a 4 year colledge degree.

  • what is your degree in? Did you finally get a job as ESL? Is it hard to find availability for work for ESL?

  • i have a BA in communications

it depends on the person i guess

  • rhyming gaijin, question man... do you think they would hire an american that is an above average japanese speaker with great english skills to teach but has no college education? I'm guessing the college degree is a must have and has gotta be 4 year.

  • When u say above avevage

    Compared to who ?

It does increase your chances but the visa issue is an issue

U could cone here and network for 3 months straight and maybe find something but there is no garrentees man

What about going to school here , then you can get more time to b here

  • i'm kinda looking at it in time frames: college degree here-be there in 4or5 years....sharpen up my japanese skills to be above average for who they hire with a degree-maybe be there in 2 years. So i'm guessing what you did was get with a college in the states with a foreign studies program?

  • i studied abroad during my last semester , it was kind of random

    my degree was communication

  • lol pokemon hat that's hood dude! rap that gangsta shit! = D

  • i try

  • MANNNNNNNN great video!!!

  • thanks

  • excellent video! I would really love to teach english in Japan and i've been looking into AEON but i'd be spending all my money on booze and pachinko lol

  • yo. thank you for sharing knowledge. real talk, you helping out so much people

  • thanks

  • lol good question because we rather hear it from the begining and understand that is what i think orr you can just skip it no need to watch it it's not like you will die

  • I work for Aeon too

  • if we teach in japan will we still have enough money to pay back student loans 0_0?

  • Yea but it depends on the person, it's easy to forget that you still have bills to pay when your having soo much fun in japan

  • it would be strange if i started with part 2

  • I totally thought you were Jero for a sec

  • Comment removed

  • word is you can save more money teaching english in Korea than in Japan.

  • that's pretty much true... because they're so desperate for english teachers that know english as a first language. the reason is that SO many of their students flock to america to learn... and there goes the money that might have, otherwise, stayed in korea. so, now they are trying to recruit as many native english speakers as they can to teach english in korea, and they are willing to pay for pretty much (cont...)

  • (cont...) EVERYTHING for you... the flight, room and board, other living expenses... plus they pay you to work. =D so it's all good~~ i'm gonna teach in korea for a couple years before going on to japan, because it'll be cheaper, plus i have family in korea (i'm half korean, half black). ^^

  • by the way got work visa or working permit? if not, u must go home. we

japanese dont need 不良外人 excuse us.

  • I think you need to go and learn from him, because damn, your English needs some work.

  • Thanks for sharing all the info! I am a exchange student in Japan and I really want to come back to Japan! So I think this is going to help me a lot! :D

  • great info, the best along with unrested's.

  • I heard that as an English teacher in Japan you really can't save any money because the cost of living is so expensive.

    Any of this true?

  • depends on where you live. If you live in a expensive town, then money might be tight.

  • Definitely the most real video about teaching in Japan I've seen.

  • Just found this video, great information about it all and your a funny guy man. Will make sure I keep up to date with your updates

  • thanks for watching :)

  • are you wearing a pokemon hat? lolz

  • a great set of links and info in the description box!

FAVORITED so my subs can check it out.

  • Hahaha, wasnt even thinking that but thats what happened. Your sheep followed.

  • Thanks for posting your video to the community of English teachers!

  • The killer must run from the killer barker. Not nalts doing the stunts!

  • i guess

  • $5,000 a month! More like $2,000 a month these days.

  • yea yea yea

    dont rub it in lol

  • You could make $5,000 a month from 1985-1995.

Then the whole thing crashed. I knew guys who were making 10,000 yen an hour. One of the reasons that the price went down was that young people from Australia, NZ and Canada get an automatic working holiday visa. Americans can't get it.

  • i know :(

  • Hmm, I don't have a collage degree. My native language ain't english. And I have commited a crime. Can be tough getting a job for me, huh?

  • just a little bit

, but there is also other asian countries !!!!

  • thanks for all the great info !

    keep 'em coming...

  • Dude, you didn't get excepted to NOVA???? Good for you!! You see what NOVA was doing to people? You should have seen this one Youtuber that was living in Japan and working with NOVA just before they went bankrupt...He got trapped in Japan with no money, no home, and no job because NOVA didn't even pay him ONE paycheck before filing for bankruptcy.

    5/5

  • Interesting story. Enjoying the new videos!

  • ye man being in japan looking for jobs is easier
