You pour fuel in first, then put the penny on, then pour a bit more fuel on top, then light the fuel on top. In a couple of minutes the jets ignite. Your way could burn your campsite down. Can I use any kind of alcohol?  As in 70% alcohol or does it have to be dat special type

@MrLight49 you can use 70% but it is just not as good. It wont light up as fast, wont have as much heat and you will have non-flammable fluid inside the stove after the alcohol has been burned. You should just go buy the HEET it is around 3$ which is really cheap and that whole container goes a long ways.

@KiLoMeMpHis denatured alcohol or you can use alcohol...HEET is the best product. it is in the car fixer uper aisle and runs about less than 3 bucks for a lot of fuel

when i made mine i took a full can and shoved it down inside of one of the bases. It stretched one enough to fit over the other.  It was more airtight too. It worked great!

One quick way of getting that first hole big enough for your scissors to cut is to first make a hole with your tack (I find a safety pin really easy to push through with out the need for a hammer) then take a deck screw and with your hands (Don't need a screw driver, that would just make it harder) screw the deck screw into the can. That hole should be big enough to get your scissors into it with out crunching your can like you did. Quick tip to saving time and energy :)
