Well I predicted the song won't do well and it did not. It's just not the right contest for this song! And pour guy did look depressed during voting. I doubt this was a good experience for him. He's talented but what has this song to do with Eurovision??

On the other hand, Azerbaijan, which had a quite average song, had a really good performance and won (and I guessed both their fates during or right after their performance).

And yes, he was off at the first, but the last 3 minutes should have shown the just how operative and awesome he is. He is actually a fantastic singer, one of the best I've ever heard (better than Josh Groban, Michael Buble). But he is very nervous here so is off key a lot of times. The high notes are really off, but I understand how nervous he is. The high notes at the end are awesome, though. Truly. I love his voice no matter what! Reminds me of the little Israeli number last year. Has a voice like his, but a lot better.
This performance reminded me of Les Miserables (my favorite musical of all time) because of his jacket, the fact that he's from France, and the fact that the song is so powerful. Props from the States!

@tandeeable: If you listen to the other recordings and compare them (i.e. orchestration) to this one you'll observe that this life eurovision version was set up for a lower key, The device problem drove him out of tune, he didn't control very well his voice, oscillating between this and the other version a little bit and trying hard to stay to the last one. It wasn't a good idea to change the key for the life version, but maybe he's got some voice problems and it was the only solution this time

It is obvious from the video that he had no sound at all, and he could hardly sing along. Nevertheless, he moved on, that was a brave effort. This was my 12 points for the 2011 Eurovision Contest, and Im glad my country (Greece) awarded France with it. By the way, Vassilli has to murder the hairdresser who advised him to appear with this hair.
Nice voice, and to be this young and stand on such a big stage all alone, is courageous. If he'd left out some of the lower notes, he'd have an easier time staying on pitch. However his singing technique has some serious faults especially when he sings "E" vowels. His face and throat often get way too tense. Hope he has the time to tackle these things, which is difficult when you get 'famous' like him, or his voice may decline quickly.

@MlleLauraaNosa Having no sound at all is indeed a problem. Should have complained about it loud and clear because it could have been a set up from competitors. If you know him personally then you can pass that he needs to slap his makeup artist. Makeup should hide any sweat or oil for longer than few minutes. Tell him to try Make Up For Ever HD finishing powder. Colorless, can go over any makeup and will hide sweat, oil in addition to soft light effect. Professional French makeup BTW

Well well well... I love this song, that's a fact... But some people says Azerbaijan ,, Bought '' the votes... Let's explain... His voice seemed less powerful than in the other clips at the beginning. The performance was slightly disappointing but this song definitely deserved more than the 15th place. It won a prize (best musical composition I believe) and it was truly a masterpiece. Excellent voice, excellent music and let us keep in mind that he was one of the few who was betting on his talent and the song itself rather than the choreography and the deep cut dresses and showing of legs. Well done from Malta AMAURY!

It is obvious from the video that he had no sound at all, and he could hardly sing along. Nevertheless, he moved on, that was a brave effort. This was my 12 points for the 2011 Eurovision Contest, and Im glad my country (Greece) awarded France with it. By the way, Vassilli has to murder the hairdresser who advised him to appear with this hair.

Nice voice, and to be this young and stand on such a big stage all alone, is courageous. If he'd left out some of the lower notes, he'd have an easier time staying on pitch. However his singing technique has some serious faults especially when he sings "E" vowels. His face and throat often get way too tense. Hope he has the time to tackle these things, which is difficult when you get 'famous' like him, or his voice may decline quickly.

@panagiotouuu1997 I'm from Greece and this is a beautiful song, it deserved our 12 points! Even though it wasn't his best performance we had known and loved this song previously. Proves we have a good taste!! Same goes for our 10 points to the also beautiful italian song!

And I'll stop here, I know Amaury Vassili for 2 years, and he was sick that day, he thrown up ones, or twice, after the show, he didn't had a problem with headphones, HE HAD NO SOUND AT ALL !! He says that he went in the tune by feeling, and he's a bit angry of it, 'cause he was the only one who had no sound in headphones... that's it. Stop saying he was out of tune, it was not he's fault... he has a good voice, and we're all with him, also the one who like him =D

@MlleLauraaNosa Having no sound at all is indeed a problem. Should have complained about it loud and clear because it could have been a set up from competitors. If you know him personally then you can pass that he needs to slap his makeup artist. Makeup should hide any sweat or oil for longer than few minutes. Tell him to try Make Up For Ever HD finishing powder. Colorless, can go over any makeup and will hide sweat, oil in addition to soft light effect. Professional French makeup BTW

He Really should have complained after the performance, and been given another chance . Not fair ...... He is amazing

Well well well... I love this song, that's a fact... But some people says Azerbaijan ,, Bought '' the votes... Let's explain... Azerbaijan need mooore tourist in their country, and eurovision can do this... so, they gave travel to the jury, or money, to give 10, or 12 points to Azerbaijan, and 1, 2 or nothing to the ,, possible winning '' coutries... like France, Espagna ect... That what say someone, who told last year that Azerbaijan was trying to bought the votes of the jury...

Stop it with all the out of tune shit.His headphones weren't working at the beggining that's why he was out of tune.I'm a singer and a trainne audio engineer and I can tell you when someone gets screwed up by his monitoring(headphones) or his nerves.

His voice seemed less powerful than in the other clips at the beginning. The performance was slightly disappointing but this song definitely deserved more than the 15th place. It won a prize (best musical composition I believe) and it was truly a masterpiece. Excellent voice, excellent music and let us keep in mind that he was one of the few who was betting on his talent and the song itself rather than the choreography and the deep cut dresses and showing of legs. Well done from Malta AMAURY!
