  • How frustrating for johnson to land that big left his money punch about 100 times right on the chin and still can't get rid of the guy.

  • True! Anybody else would have folded!

  • Two guys with a lot of Heart and a lot of Hunger , Something that is Lacking today! To show you the competiveness of Johnson ,after he won the title from Mate Parlov he went after Saad because he stated ,Vividly he rememebers that Saad was the man that stopped me! So he wanted the re-match with his title on the line! What Heart and proffesionalism!

  • You got that right! That's what I liked about Johnson. Yeah, people like to diss him because he had THREE short reigns, but unlike most champs, HE TOOK THE HARDEST FIGHTS HE COULD GET! And he WAS the first man to win the light-heavy title three times.

  • Yes ,he also was a bronze medalist in the 1972 Olympics in Munich Germany! After his ko lost to Spinks he won 14 straight from 1982-86 to get another shot! A very stellar career! Is he in the Hall of Fame ?

  • Nah...he's not in the HOF. As good as he was, he wasn't quite as decorated as the other light heavyweight champs of the era who ARE in there: Foster, Spinks, and Saad Muhammad.

  • Hey Dawg, even though you think he won the title on 3 different ocassions,do you think he will get in on those accomplishments? Maybe defending it only one time sucessfully may hurt his chances.

  • Saad starts taking over at the end of round 8. He landed some really HEAVY body shots, but true to form, Johnson didn't back down. Man, I love these guys!
