  • I havem always loved dr Hook This summer mwe saw Ray Sawyer in M<ichigan great show

  • we need more bands with these amazing voices back in our lives instead of this crap they play today

  • This stays with me for months after I play it - Dr Hook is absolutely amazing!! Saw them live in 70's and VERY INTERACTIVE with their audience too!!! LOVE THEM!!

  • It was a song written way before it's time.

  • i agree it should have went to the top of the charts.. GREAT SONG !!!!

  • Why this song did not top the charts is beyond me

  • So many homeless, brilliant way of getting the message through, can anyone listen to this without it touching a cord somewhere in us....

  • This is such a beautiful song....really moving...thanks for posting.

  • Loved this song when I first heard it back in 72 still one that stays in my heart Dennis & Ray made it a point to try to through their voices let the cries of help be heard. I still try to help, if I see someone who is homeless I will buy them a cup of coffee and a sandwich or if its summer I will buy them a large bottled water.

This song spoke to me as a 13 year old kid & to this day Ray and Dennis still speaks to me through this song. Dennis, Ray, Love ya man.

  • It was a sleeper!? I always loved this. And the plight of the homeless is everywhere evident. They are here in our small cities (50,000 or so) in IA.

  • My opinion, Dennis Locorrrier's unique voice and talent is second to none, and that includes Elvis and Sinatra. Please spend some time listening to him on YouTube, and you will see what I am saying. I'm not talking about charisma or his stage presence or name recognition. But his beautiful voice and delivery. Dennis never misses a word or a note. Perfection

  • @gttdkt you are right on..his voice touches ones soul.

  • What a great photo-collection to fit this wonderful song,

written by Shel Silverstein and performed by Dr.Hook and the medicine show.

  • Great Song!!
