I was john's private student/ protege for 5 years and it is baffling to me how I had no clue (even tho Im a trained jazz piano player) what he weas doing. But after about a year I coulod see pattern after pattern. I want to honor him as always, by teaching young players, about this music....
damn astonishing 2 blues guys this does remind me of sonny terry and brownie mcgee but i want to know how to play like phill wiggins cause that guys has a sick ass style that is different than any other harmonica player but yet so smooth yet so passionate yet so fast and clean absolutly sooths my soul thanks for posting this you are a blues god ..
How long did these guys play together? Their mutual understanding is awesome. The harp is the perfect accompaniment to the voice blending exquisitely.Miraculous!
Cephas may not be with us today but his music is with me forever. Being a young man, I'm finding my age group straying away from music like this and i hope it stays alive!
They were this age when I saw them in Australia. They were selling tapes at the exit.Historical Bluesmen. This goes on my 'Best of Best' playlist. Thank you for posting.
