the first time i stumbled across KAWS' work in NYC it was before everyone i knew carried around cell phones with cameras, so i never took pictures of his work. i wish i had. i always loved him, and although he's been mimicked he was innovative and extremely genius and welcomed at the time. congratulations to him in all his successes.

He uses Cel-vinyl....2-d animators are known for using it. To achieve such a smooth and (flat) clean look you gotta come up with a mixture to increase the fluidity of the paint. (water...extender...etc)

i'd say acrylics, but a very..."acrylic" type( hope that makes sense).

i once saw a vid of him painting, he was using some kind of...sponge-brushes for the filling, i don't know about the small ones; i guess just fine high quality brushes...
