  • wow, imagine trying this these days!

  • Why didn't the guy you encountered at 4:50 bust you? He didn't care?

  • The best vid. ever! Brings back my 20 yrs. in the Navy! Thanks for posting!

  • I don't see why cruise lines have a "explore the bowels of the ship" as one of their attractions.

  • Amazing, a steam ship. When you're in the engine room you can see all the moving parts... you can hear the engine's hard work. It feels like you're a mouse or spider... everything is so big...

  • wow that was an amazing experience. Thanks for showing us this.Great video

  • I too did the "mission impossible" down

below. There was an elevator the size of a phone booth on the deck above Atlantic that went down to the second lowest deck on the rearward spaces. I couldn't resist.

Now to brag..........I stood on the tank deck 30 below the waterline. Wow - hay

nice of you to "bring us along" on your trip.

  • Did you get caught?

    An amazing experience...

  • Wow. my old workplace!

  • Seems like some things never change. Wet duds hanging on the fiddley. As a cadet I got yelled at by the C/E for dripping all over his EMD's on the Buffalo.

  • well thanks for that really. I love SS FRANCE NORWAY. She was a huge isn't she? you could have gotten lost in the jungle pipe. Well done. Thanks again.

  • Great Video.

  • Funny thing is, he is mouthing off loudly whilst supposedly sneaking about the engine room.

    Oh dear lol.

  • DocPhotop, I am an Ocean Liner historian and was supervised.

  • coolest

    job

    ever

  • Back then, had you been caught you would have gotten in trouble but because you did this the world is better for it. Since we have your record of the past. Good on you.

  • very nice this is history now.

  • So you entered the crew area on Atlantic Deck, which means you entered the engine room on Caribbean Deck which is at waterline, then you descended two more flights of stairs... which means you were eventually submerged under at least two stories of water at some points. Wow, that must have been a rush.

  • It's not that exciting, honestly. I spend hours underwater every day at work, and it's not much of a thrill.

  • mint video this video is now part of the ss norways history
