It's hard to decide, but I think this is my favorite Lowell song-breaks my heart - Thinking about how he lived and died-I feel his heartache. I wonder if "heartache" was another word for depression? Cause that's how I feel a lot of the time-like it's my constant companion-wish it would just go away and let me live my life in peace...
@jeannie1renee2 I know how you feel. That's why this song really speaks to me. Just don't kill yourself drowning that feeling with dope like Lowell did.
lowell george is/was a national treasure. he invented the 'cracked mosaic,' an avant garde way of songwriting that broke new ground in song form. Best example I can think of is 'Fat Man in the Bathtub. No simple verse-chorus-verse chorus there.
Thanks...I have "Thanks I'll Eat It Here" and have been waiting for someone to post this wonderful song.. It is on the CD but not the LP.... bytheway...Happy Birthday Lowell...4-13-45
Thank you for the positive comments, everyone. Glad you enjoyed the video.

@TheNotthead sometime between 1977 and 1979, as far as I can work out. Lowell recorded songs for his solo album during this years.
