LOVE this!! Very good results! Thanx for the tips about the activator gel AND Ecostyler together. I'm a new Transitioner.....only 3 months post, so I know MANY have turned back at this point, but I refuse!! Lol. Just wanted you to know how helpful this tutorial was. Thanx again, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Thanks for the video! I am 7/8 months post relaxer. I usually wear my hair in buns since I had a bad experience with wearing my hair in a braid. Yet, I love both looks on you. I will try it tonight! Lady Bliss AKA UrbanChik thank you & showing love
I'm transitioning and I wanted to know do you use a lot of products on your hair because me and my daughter are going natural. My daughter have to because the chemicals are messing with her scalp and have taken some out in spots. And what are the names of the prodcuts.
@3536Lisa Hi and congrats on you and your daughter deciding to go natural. Please check out my video titled So You Want to Go Natural. There I detail all of the basic products that I used while transitioning.
@Dena88Baby You can do all the traditional transitioning styles such as twistouts, braidouts, bantu knot outs, rollersets, rods sets, updos like buns, etc. You just need to find out what looks best on your hair for the length you are working with. Good luck.
I love this video and the song. The first time I tried to do the curly pony with the stocking, I messed up and my hair just didn't go right so I grabbed a scrunchie, lol. I had to watch the video while doing the curly pony and figured out what I did wrong. Now I'm pretty good with it and I've done a 60's style what I call a "half 'fro" puff and I use the two strand twists and bantu knots to make my hair extra curly and it looks like those curly weave puffs that women love to wear.
@ALuvLikeNoOther Oh great! Glad you got it to work out. Your 60's style sounds sooo cute. You have any pics? Hope your transition is going well also. Thanks for commenting.
Thanks so much for posting this video (and all of your videos about your hair journey). I am 10 months post relaxer and I had finally hit a point where I didn't know what to do with my hair when I came across this video. This was a life-saver! Btw, your hair looks great before and after your bc.
@KerygmaWord Congrats on your 10 Months! You could also start doing more updos and buns and things like that for when you hair is not cooperating. If you check my fotki, I have quite a few styles in there that I did each month of my transition. Stay encouraged and Thank you!
The stocking was a great idea. I have been looking for a way to make my pony look full like that without putting a fony pony on. I am so trying this. Thanks.
I wanted to let you know that I just took out my 1st time bantu knots and followed your instructions this vid...my hair came out GREAT!!! I am so excited thanks so much for the style!! YOURE AMAZING! =)
This is so cute! Im going to try it! thanks for posting! Is this the sam style you have for your "So you want to Transition to Natural Hair Part 2" video?
@Uniquelise3 I also love the fact that you show the products you are using for your transitioning, it seems simple and the 5 "needs" you give makes a lot of sense! please keep posting, i've been kind of discouraged lately in my transitioning phase, but u give me hope! thank you!
@1987DPW I can understand getting discouraged. One thing that may help is to make sure you always have a GOTO style incase your hair or the style you intended to do is not working out. It can really save you in a pinch.
@1987DPW Cont...Also I would reccomend you join a hair forum the specifically supports transitioners. These can be very helpful in not only keeping you encouraged, but helping you whenever you encounter issues. Feel free to ask me questions. This journey is SO Worth seeing it through til the end!
@Uniquelise3 Thanks so much for the advice, its good to know other sistas out there working it natural and having such amazing results. your hair is gorgeous! I will definately stay tuned..
I loveee this vid & hopefully this will become a style that I can wear at work! Many tenured employees at my job rock kinky curls & I wanna let my natural tresses out & be proud (outwardly) I just really need to buy some good products so that everything will come 2gether smoothly =D
This was soooo helpful and pretty. I have been wearing wigs mostly through my transition which is about 6 months post. I really want to wear my hair which is fine/thin. I will try this.
You mentioned something about using a diffuser to make your roots straighter. Pls do tell how this is done. I loved the vid but I'm hesistant to try bantu knots b/c I'm not too sure how it will come out with all of my new growth (7 mos. post relaxer). Thx!
I use my hand hair dryer with a diffuser attachment. While pulling the hair as you dry, your roots will be straighter than if you just let it air dry. 7mths? Please...LOL I was 7 mths when I did this vid and I'm stil able to do this style @ 10mths. Good luck.
I've actually done a puff with my transitioning hair. Thought about doing a vid on it but it's not that much different from this one. You just let your hair air dry instead of drying using the tension method.
Tension method is simply pulling the hair either with your fingers or with a comb as you dry your hair with the dryer. It helps your roots dry a little straighter and therefore giving you more elongation. When I let my hair airdry, I get major shrinkage which is why I'm able to do pufss if I want. HTH
I really do enjoy your videos and the way you carry yourself with such confidence. I have started transitioning, and I'm wondering how long I will last. This is my first time, and I know it's the best thing for my hair, so I'm trying to stay diligent. I have been wearing a puff ponytail so far, because I have an area in the back that is broken off, so I can't at present do braid outs; they don't look right. But I will definitely keep watching for new ideas from you. Thanks so much!
Cute! I dont know it never occured to be before to try this , considering the fact that i've seen plenty of naturals with their puff. Im transitioning with a sew in. Once i take my hair down to breathe i'll definately try this. Thanks
that style is so cute...Ive just decided to transition from relaxed to natural hair and i was researching different transition styles and i really like this one....thanks this was really helpful
What an excellent tip you used with your stocking! Now I know what to do when I get wholes in my tights I wont throw them away I'm gonna use them in my hair :) Thanks for this :)
I did planned to in Dec, but I think I may push it back into next year sometime due my work schedule. I'll prob do a vid explaining later. Thanks for the compliment.:)
Hey girl I see your still hanging in there...Congrats! I did not have the patients. I know you tagged me but I still haven't gotten a new camera. Stay blessed..I'll talk to you soon!
I did something similar to this by accident the other day...lol. I didn't like the way my twists came out so I just pulled it back. Never used the stocking though...might have to try that out next time.
Very cute!....wow...i cant believe its been 7 mons since your 1st video...excited and a little anxious about your journey*....you are really coming along...can't wait to see your BC!!.. Be Blessed!
Cute! We're at the same transitioning stage (7 mos)! Oh but I so can't get my hair to easily go into a cute pony like that! I have a tremendous amount of new growth and hope I can hold out for 2 more months.
