  • Love it

  • Nice video and very informative, I want to transition and this helps. Also, you have a nice home.

  • LOVE this!! Very good results! Thanx for the tips about the activator gel AND Ecostyler together. I'm a new Transitioner.....only 3 months post, so I know MANY have turned back at this point, but I refuse!! Lol. Just wanted you to know how helpful this tutorial was. Thanx again, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

  • Your bathroom look nice with good space.

  • Thanks for the video! I am 7/8 months post relaxer. I usually wear my hair in buns since I had a bad experience with wearing my hair in a braid. Yet, I love both looks on you. I will try it tonight! Lady Bliss AKA UrbanChik thank you & showing love

  • I LOVE IT ! i love how you used the half of a stocking as a bow .. fantastic idea ! :D Thanks for posting !!!

  • I'm transitioning and I wanted to know do you use a lot of products on your hair because me and my daughter are going natural. My daughter have to because the chemicals are messing with her scalp and have taken some out in spots. And what are the names of the prodcuts.

  • @3536Lisa Hi and congrats on you and your daughter deciding to go natural. Please check out my video titled So You Want to Go Natural. There I detail all of the basic products that I used while transitioning.

  • This is a great hair style. I am almost 5 months post and my hair is so thick and I have no idea what todo. Any suggestions.

  • @Dena88Baby You can do all the traditional transitioning styles such as twistouts, braidouts, bantu knot outs, rollersets, rods sets, updos like buns, etc. You just need to find out what looks best on your hair for the length you are working with. Good luck.

  • that is the cutest ponytail i've seen... my hair isnt that long so..:( but when it gets there im def using this

  • @sheishell88 Thank you. I also use this same technique to do my puffs since my hair isn't that long since I BC'd.

  • I love this video and the song. The first time I tried to do the curly pony with the stocking, I messed up and my hair just didn't go right so I grabbed a scrunchie, lol. I had to watch the video while doing the curly pony and figured out what I did wrong. Now I'm pretty good with it and I've done a 60's style what I call a "half 'fro" puff and I use the two strand twists and bantu knots to make my hair extra curly and it looks like those curly weave puffs that women love to wear.

  • @ALuvLikeNoOther Oh great! Glad you got it to work out. Your 60's style sounds sooo cute. You have any pics? Hope your transition is going well also. Thanks for commenting.

  • @Uniquelise3 I only took four pictures of the style but I'll make a slide video of the photos to show you how it looks.

  • @ALuvLikeNoOther That would be great. Let me know when the vid posts.

  • Very cute hairdo. I"m going to have too try that look. Thank you again.

  • @luvneternal You're welcome.

  • I love your bathroom! LOL

  • @zzellezz1 LOL thanks I do too.:))

  • Thanks so much for posting this video (and all of your videos about your hair journey). I am 10 months post relaxer and I had finally hit a point where I didn't know what to do with my hair when I came across this video. This was a life-saver! Btw, your hair looks great before and after your bc.

  • @KerygmaWord Congrats on your 10 Months! You could also start doing more updos and buns and things like that for when you hair is not cooperating. If you check my fotki, I have quite a few styles in there that I did each month of my transition. Stay encouraged and Thank you!

  • what song is that in the background love it. Also great tips I am transitioning as well.

  • @Lkfun the music is from Cirque Du Soleil called Patzivota. Congrats on your decision to go natural!

  • The stocking was a great idea. I have been looking for a way to make my pony look full like that without putting a fony pony on. I am so trying this. Thanks.

  • @Jaiymie Cool hope it turns out great!

  • I wanted to let you know that I just took out my 1st time bantu knots and followed your instructions this vid...my hair came out GREAT!!! I am so excited thanks so much for the style!! YOURE AMAZING! =)

  • @1987DPW Oh I bet it came out beautiful on you! You're very pretty anyway so I just know you had that look working!!! Glad it worked out for you.

  • @Uniquelise3 Awe thanks!! Youre gorgeous too!! the hair makes a big part of a woman, so i have you to thank for helping me in that area =)

  • This is so cute! Im going to try it! thanks for posting! Is this the sam style you have for your "So you want to Transition to Natural Hair Part 2" video?

  • @1987DPW Yes it is!

  • @Uniquelise3 I also love the fact that you show the products you are using for your transitioning, it seems simple and the 5 "needs" you give makes a lot of sense! please keep posting, i've been kind of discouraged lately in my transitioning phase, but u give me hope! thank you!

  • @1987DPW I can understand getting discouraged. One thing that may help is to make sure you always have a GOTO style incase your hair or the style you intended to do is not working out. It can really save you in a pinch.

  • @1987DPW Cont...Also I would reccomend you join a hair forum the specifically supports transitioners. These can be very helpful in not only keeping you encouraged, but helping you whenever you encounter issues. Feel free to ask me questions. This journey is SO Worth seeing it through til the end!

  • @Uniquelise3 Thanks so much for the advice, its good to know other sistas out there working it natural and having such amazing results. your hair is gorgeous! I will definately stay tuned..

  • your pretty , & the style is extra cute . Im going to try this. thanx(:

  • @90z1ma Thank you. Hope you have great results!!

  • I like this! Thanks for the inspiration. I don't have to BC right away. I can make it! Keep it up!

  • @TooShy9 Yes you can make it!! HHJ!!!

  • I loveee this vid & hopefully this will become a style that I can wear at work! Many tenured employees at my job rock kinky curls & I wanna let my natural tresses out & be proud (outwardly) I just really need to buy some good products so that everything will come 2gether smoothly =D

  • Well good luck with that. Sometimes just KIS is best! HHJ!

  • This was soooo helpful and pretty. I have been wearing wigs mostly through my transition which is about 6 months post. I really want to wear my hair which is fine/thin. I will try this.

  • Great, let me know how it comes out!

  • Great idea! Love it!

  • Hope it comes out great!

  • You mentioned something about using a diffuser to make your roots straighter. Pls do tell how this is done. I loved the vid but I'm hesistant to try bantu knots b/c I'm not too sure how it will come out with all of my new growth (7 mos. post relaxer). Thx!

  • I use my hand hair dryer with a diffuser attachment. While pulling the hair as you dry, your roots will be straighter than if you just let it air dry. 7mths? Please...LOL I was 7 mths when I did this vid and I'm stil able to do this style @ 10mths. Good luck.

  • That came out really cute, I never thought to do this with my transitioning hair. Its a puff for transitioners.

  • I've actually done a puff with my transitioning hair. Thought about doing a vid on it but it's not that much different from this one. You just let your hair air dry instead of drying using the tension method.

  • What is the tension method? I always let my hair air dry.

  • Tension method is simply pulling the hair either with your fingers or with a comb as you dry your hair with the dryer. It helps your roots dry a little straighter and therefore giving you more elongation. When I let my hair airdry, I get major shrinkage which is why I'm able to do pufss if I want. HTH

  • Chic and simple

  • Thanks, I like to keep it simple!

  • this really came out cute..now im def going to try this.. comes in handy for simple occasions..

  • I agree. It's a good "Go To" hairstyle. Hope it comes out like you like it. :)

  • Good look! I think I will try this. Thanks.

  • Yw, thank you for watching!

  • I really do enjoy your videos and the way you carry yourself with such confidence. I have started transitioning, and I'm wondering how long I will last. This is my first time, and I know it's the best thing for my hair, so I'm trying to stay diligent. I have been wearing a puff ponytail so far, because I have an area in the back that is broken off, so I can't at present do braid outs; they don't look right. But I will definitely keep watching for new ideas from you. Thanks so much!

  • You're so very welcome. I hope your transition goes well and if there's anything I can help you with, please just let me know.

  • Cute! I dont know it never occured to be before to try this , considering the fact that i've seen plenty of naturals with their puff. Im transitioning with a sew in. Once i take my hair down to breathe i'll definately try this. Thanks

  • YW.

  • This has been my signature style for 2 months now. Thanks so much for this idea!

  • You're so welcome!

  • thank you so much for this idea cuz i dont no wat to do with my transitioning hair! :D if you get any more ideas plz share

  • Thanks I sure will.

  • Thanks, good luck on your hair journey!!

  • What an excellent tip you used with your stocking! Now I know what to do when I get wholes in my tights I wont throw them away I'm gonna use them in my hair :) Thanks for this :)

  • Glad you found it helpful.:)

  • Hey, it's MummysGirl.

This is how I did my braidout puff today! I love your results! BEAUTIFUL!

  • Hey Mummy! Stockings are the best hair accessory. I love your puff!!!

  • wow! nice!! i doubt it'll work on my shorter hair though:(

how did you do your edges i cant find any vids on them!

  • Hi and thanks. I used ecostyler on my edges using a toothbrush to lay them down. That's pretty much it. :)

  • Thats a cute hair style

  • Thank you.

  • Beautiful style. I see from this video that you are 7 mos into your transition. When do you plan to do your bc?

  • I did planned to in Dec, but I think I may push it back into next year sometime due my work schedule. I'll prob do a vid explaining later. Thanks for the compliment.:)

  • cute=)

  • Hey girl I see your still hanging in there...Congrats! I did not have the patients. I know you tagged me but I still haven't gotten a new camera. Stay blessed..I'll talk to you soon!

  • Np Meesha. Hope you're well otherwise. Hurry up and get a new camera! Lol

  • Ok, I'm going to try this .

  • Great. It's really easy. :)

  • This style is so cute!

I did something similar to this by accident the other day...lol. I didn't like the way my twists came out so I just pulled it back. Never used the stocking though...might have to try that out next time.

  • Thanks. Yeah I like using the stocking to keep my edges from being pulled too tight.

  • thats a good one!

    imma try it!

  • Hope it comes out lookin hot! Not a hot mess but you know!! "On Point" Lol

    :P

  • This is a very cute and simple hairstyle. I have a friend at work interested in transitioning. You make it look so easy.

  • Thanks girl. I wouldn't be able to transition without the help from youtube! So it's all good!

  • Cute! We're at the same transitioning stage (7 mos)! Oh but I so can't get my hair to easily go into a cute pony like that! I have a tremendous amount of new growth and hope I can hold out for 2 more months.

  • I actually have quite a bit of NG, but I found a real nice product I just started using that makes detangling so much easier. Shoot me a pm if you want to know what it is. :) I may do a review on it at sometime aftter using it a bit longer.
