I was born in Danang. Since I'm the younger generation, I didn't know that there used to be a big chinese community in Danang at the time. You guys all left after 75, I guess.

My mum told me about Tho Nhon which is called Tran Hung Dao now. I used to live 2 minutes away from Tho Nhon btw.

I believe the place you mentioned here is My-Khe Beach or further south on China Beach. It can't be anywhere else.I remember every time we went to the My-Khe Beach to swim we couldn't go any further south due to GI security Zone

Nice video...I served with the US Army at Camp Carter across the bridge going towards Marble Mountain. Your video captures the beauty of the city. Vietnam is a beautiful country especially in the DaNang area. I hope to go back some day to see the changes.....but I'd like to see some things stay the same. Thanks for the trip! jk

I lived in DaNang during the 1980's....what a beautiful city. I would spend my days at the beach and the nights at the busy bars and clubs around town. Lots of pretty girls all around and also the "working girls" who would spend the night with you for only $10!! Needless to say, it was heaven on Earth. Now I hear it's all just a big commercialized town....so sad.

I was born in Danang and grew up in Bac My An (almost a part of My Khe beach) - one of the the best, most beautiful beaches on earth. I went back to visit last summer and holy smoke, they are developing it like crazy!!! 30 resorts in 5 years, 3 new high tech residential areas and proposal to make Cu Lao Cham become a new entertain/ business area (with casino and stuff) in 2012. A lot of those are invested by Oversea Viet

simply put the Danang commies are more open to biz than those in Hue. Hue made some changes recently in the tay-balo (western packbackers) areas. Danang would be prettier if they grow more trees.

Well, put it the other way, a city should have many green trees and green parks where kids and adults can go there exercise and relax.
