The love stories were really the only things that made Lodoss special (particularly the Parn/Deedlit one). Most of the other fantasy elements weren't done all that well, and the only reason people might disagree is because Lodoss is 1 of only like 5 decent anime dealing with tolkien or DnD-esque mediaval fantasy, and the shortage has affected their perception. It was just a paint by number of DnD cliches mixed with high fantasy otherwise.

This is the anime of course; I've never read any manga.

This is the very first one I ever watched. ButI was being secretive about it because my little brother watced it and I kept saying it was "stupid" untill I started watching anime and found out that I liked it. So I sort of developed a complex with watching anime, if I get caught watching it it's just like when somebody walks in on you when your jerkin it to me. But I havn't managed to get caught yet.

Deedlit plays a definate role in the anime but not really focused TOO much on her but more on her and the guy u see with her and their companions as well as their enemy counterparts...
