@starsoffyre it is a transition - and the camera lens and eyepiece - telescope ... do not forget to photograph Jupiter's minimum distance is only 100 million km.
Well I haven't heard of that term before in astrophotography. The setup I used was simply an auto point-and-shoot held up to the 20mm eyepiece of a 5-inch aperture, 1000mm focal length scope.
excuse me i have a question ok check this happened about 3 weeks ago i was out side at night i live south florida in miami to be exact..at night there was this huge ring it look like it was near the atmosphere roof it was a giant cloud ring with the moon inside the middle the most bizarre shit i ever saw i couldn't get a picture it was there for hours a giant glowing huge circle out of cloudes a perfect circle giant ring ..I was stone but weed wont do that plus oter sober people saw the same
This phenomenon is actually due to light from the moon shining through ice crystals in the atmosphere. This forms a halo around the moon like what you saw. I happened to see this many times before, as the place I live in has a high humidity.
Dear viewers, kindly read the description. I am getting comments saying that this is not an eclipse. However, it is an eclipse, a LUNER eclipse to be exact, just that is is not the SOLAR eclipse that you are probably finding. If that's the case, please see my other video on a partial SOLAR eclipse. Notice how I am forced to stress on my words. I don't mind if you are ignorant, but please do not insult my intelligence as I probably know more than you do. Thank you and enjoy the video.
It is a penumbral lunar eclipse, whereby the earth's penumbral shadow covers the moon. If you look at the moon's northeastern limb, there will be a slight darkening of the moon's disc.
what is the optical transition?

Please read the description. The Earth's penumbral shadow blocks the moon. Please do a little research before calling me a "clown".
