Obviously its not a CD quality mix, but thats because someone is standing in front of a big 'ol sound board mixing it while he listens. but you cant have a concert without a sound board and a sound tech. just so we're all clear.

Yes, they do. I've listened to some of their albums and, even as a musician, I sometimes can't tell when one Tool song ends and the next one begins. Don't get your panties in a wad, its just an opinion.
Yes, Tool is very original and has an unmatched sound, but they don't branch out any in my opinion. They stay so close to their sound that everything they do sounds exactly the same. A Perfect Circle uses a wide variety of sounds and doesn't sound like anyone else. And I thought that the "point" of a band (as you so eloquently put it) was to make music you idiot fuck.
Tool is so great in concert.. But when I saw them, the whole arena was fish-bowled and you could barely see the stage. Not that I'm complaining, it was great! Just wish I could remember.. I must've been.. high
whoever did the video thanks man i've been looking for this. A classic tool concert with Maynard singing out since it was the 2nd to last show on the tour. Adam actually moved an inch during jambi and justin was headbanging the whole time. The only criticism i have for this tape was that you didn't get maynard's dance with the cowboy hat during the break in the song.

i was at this show the crowd was amazing the best tool atmosphere out of the 6 times ive seen them. it was a large arena too. acoustics were good.

you are the complete opposite of what tool wants you to think, so please stop being a fan.... tool is the sickest band... their lyrics and instrumentals are mesmerizing, yeah maynard has a good voice, but why do you think hes always in the back and in the shadows, he doesn't want you to think the singer is the primary tool so-to-speak in the band, TOOL is made up of 4 people

i rly hate when ppl say "his voice doesn't sound like the album" of course not ... it's live. there's no producer and mixer and shit. if you want the album verson all the time, don't go to shows. i personally like the small changes they add.

i agree with you. but just to clarify, there is in fact a "mixer" there. Obviously its not a CD quality mix, but thats because someone is standing in front of a big 'ol sound board mixing it while he listens. but you cant have a concert without a sound board and a sound tech. just so we're all clear.

I...don't get why people like TOOL. I've listened to several of their songs, all of them were boring. TOOL seems to be better at making music videos and not the music. The music...it all sounds like it's leading up to something but that something never comes.

when you said its leading up to something but that something never comes, it reminded me of dissonance. If you don't know what that is, its ok. but look it up. i agree that some tool songs leave you hanging, but have you ever thought that it might be on purpose? i once heard a musician say that silence is as potent as notes in a song if it's done right. sometimes the song ends, or fades out of no where to give an effect and create an impression

The entire point of the song is to build up to something and never deliver. They want you to be left wondering what next. The want you to ask questions. That's what Tool is all about.

Agree. their music is marvellous, and beautiful. I feel absolute harmony, love, or anger or anything that their music generates in my soul but its just because its so perfect, cuz music is about emotions and thats what they do perfectly expressing emotions...they re the best. thats all. (on 13 august Im going to see them at last at Sziget feszt! Anyone else? hungary really need to hear good rock music!)

Yes, Tool is very original and has an unmatched sound, but they don't branch out any in my opinion. They stay so close to their sound that everything they do sounds exactly the same. A Perfect Circle uses a wide variety of sounds and doesn't sound like anyone else. And I thought that the "point" of a band (as you so eloquently put it) was to make music you idiot fuck.

Tool is so great in concert.. But when I saw them, the whole arena was fish-bowled and you could barely see the stage. Not that I'm complaining, it was great! Just wish I could remember.. I must've been.. high

whoever did the video thanks man i've been looking for this. A classic tool concert with Maynard singing out since it was the 2nd to last show on the tour. Adam actually moved an inch during jambi and justin was headbanging the whole time. The only criticism i have for this tape was that you didn't get maynard's dance with the cowboy hat during the break in the song.
