  • Does this ship to OC cali

  • Where can I buy one I live in Florida

  • @720Esteban They are listed at AssitedKnife

  • Where can I buy one I live in Florida

  • WOOT! got mine together. Wasn't that hard, considering it was my first D/A knife kit. Very nice.

  • can you ship it to germany?

  • @crateyour123 yes, I ship to Germany

  • If all else fails, and you're in tears. Which makes a bad knife lubricant, by the way. LMAO That was pretty clever.

  • WARNING: this knife does not abide with California's 3 inch double blade law, and is there for illegal to carry in that state.

  • where do i oil it inside or on the opening?

  • DOES ANYBODY KNOW A SPOT LIKE A SWAP MEET OR SOMETHING IN SOUTHERN CALI THAT SELLS THESE? OR ANYONE THAT SHIPS THEM HERE?

  • @TheOneAndOnlyTbone ya the dude who made this video , duhhh

  • have you ever used it ? :P

  • Kit as it when we buy it, we have to assemble it ourselves?

  • Yes, but I have one that is much easier now.

  • do u ship 2 canada

  • Email me.

  • if i bought one from you would i get it cheaper?

  • I have them listed lower than most guys, you email me and it will be done.

  • no no i mean do you make them or you buy them off some one else guy?

  • A mixture of both.

  • so where do you get your knives

  • I sell them at AssistedKnife

  • I would like to see scamatics for the design. So far I am to understand that by pushing the thumb botton forward compresses the spring and at the very end it releases the tension forcing the blade to pop out. Then the same thing in the reverse direction. Pretty simple really.

  • is there a book that shows you step by step instructions on how to assemble/disassemble one?

  • No just the still photos.

  • Lol, if u ever become a pimp u have the perfect voice, just need to be a little lower

  • lol

  • Yeah, retard there is an actual video with the install, this is the stills because someone asked me for a still video so they could pause it while they did the install. Why the hell do I give a crap what you think? I try to help people who are my customers, not win some award for the video. Grow up.

  • couldn't he pause the video?

  • not many computers have that capability :p

  • Why don't you pause the video. I could care less, this model is a cheap piece so why don't you make the video yourself quit all the fucking whining about everything and grow some balls. I have two version of this video and if you don't like what I have to say then don't watch any of my videos and GTF.

  • your such a prick

  • @yoyotony28 How is he a prick? I doubt you know how to make a valid reply.....

  • Great vids mate very informative i looked on your website and can you send these otf knife kits to australia

  • Yes, they are listed.

  • Yeah now that is good English dipshit. Learn some grammar while your at it instead of insulting people.

  • i know, im sorry for insulting you.

and yes im learning english im not american.

  • Well, a point place to start is not by insulting those who speak their native language. I speak differently when I'm wasted than I do sober, you don't know the circumstances to which I edit my videos and I'm not out to win some Oscar for best performance. I am out to get people interested in knives and to show my clients in video format what I sell.

  • no he aint he talkin like a nerd loooooool

  • is it possible to ship these to Australia?? perhaps in separate packages???

  • is there a regular switchblade kit

  • Yeah, about 50 of them, go look in the online store at AssistedKnife dot com

  • you should put more videos like this. they are very helpfull and it helped me to get mine done right.

  • That sounds like a bitch to make.

  • Yeah, OTF models are very difficult to assemble, it is better to buy them assembled that is for certain, unless you are skilled and like to mess around.

  • Yeah thats for damn sure. I think the italian stilleto knife kit would be fun, is it?

  • We realize that there will be many people who have kits that will never get successfully made.

If all else fails and you're in tears (which make bad knife lubricant, but the way)

you can remove the spring portion and just put in the slide assembly and use the knife as a gravity knife.

Not a great gravity knife, but... well... there you go.

  • These tabs on the slide assembly are what push the levers creating the blade catch and release operation.

You have to make sure they are pushing on the lever correctly- you can adjust them a number of different ways but be careful.

Slide the slide/spring assembly back and forth and observe how the mechanism works-

it's important to know what's happening so you can make the appropriate adjustments.

  • Just give a few of the coils a stretch. Pull on them until the don't' spring back.

    Cut off a section.

    Create a new loop.

Reattach your hook and crimp the loop.

Sometimes the hooks aren't straight and this causes mechanical malfunction or it causes your hooks to slide off the rail assembly (mentioned above).

Using pliers you can carefully bend them straight.

  • Be careful with these kinds of adjustments- if you shave off to much of something somewhere you're out of luck.

These are the levers (discussed earlier) that hold in the blade. On the backside the appear as pins.

You need to make sure that the lever rock correctly to catch the blade in the open and closed position.

Sometimes there is not enough spring tension on the knife and the blade seems limp. You can shorten the spring to create the needed tension.

  • You can remove the slide/spring assembly or leave it in when you take the knife apart.

You've got three main parts- the front, blade and back .

Many times it's necessary to sand out the back potion of the handle in the blade groove.

Sometimes there are burrs or other imperfections which the blade can catch on.

Take a look at the blade. Same idea- sometimes casting imperfections exist and the need to be smoothed out.

A Dremel too is very helpful for this kind of fix.

  • If it's working have a little party for yourself. Sell it to a friend. Pop it in a display case. It's been a good day.

Lots of things can go wrong. Here's some items that may help you troubleshoot.

This is in no way a comprehensive list. This is to get you started in your tinkering.

If the blade jams in the handle(we're not talking about a spring issue- if it physically jams)you'll want to turn the knife over and remove the back.

Be careful- these screws are very easy to damage, strip and break

  • Pop on your button for a test drive. Try to fire the knife.

Make sure you're slide doesn't go too far and that the blade goes in and out.

Most likely it won't work (hey, just being honest).

If this is the case, scroll down a bit and have a look at some of the advanced suggestions.

    Put your faceplate on.

  • Additionally it may help to get a mallet and you can tap the top of the pocket knife to get the tab bent over correctly

and snug against the side of the knife.

Then end goal is that the tab prevents the slide/spring assembly from traveling past the point on the handle indicated by the screwdriver.

The tab must catch on the handle so it won't pull all the way out.

One this is completed pull the blade out. It should lock into place.

  • Push in the slide/spring assembly until it's flush in the handle.

Then push the assembly up under the top of the handle.

There is a small tab indicated by the screwdriver. This tab must be crimped down to the right.

We used a Swiss army knife- just push it down...

...and then push it against the side of the handle. It's not quite as easy as it looks like in the picture.

A good deal of force is required to push in the tab.

  • Go ahead, give it a pull. Fun, eh? Enjoy it while you can. Things are about to get hard.

Hook the spring assembly onto the slide. The large hook goes onto the bottom of the slide.

Again, the part of the slide closest to the thumb in the picture should have the larger hook on it.

If you have trouble getting the hook to stay on a couple of ideas are discussed below.

Next insert the complete slide/spring assembly into the knife handle as shown. Your blade must still be halfway out.

  • The small lever (indicated by the screwdriver) is what locks the blade into the base of the handle. Push on it...

...and the blade will drop out. It may not slide this easily, so if needed keep the lever held down and give the knife a shake.

Make sure the lever is pushed in all the way and is not catching on the blade anywhere. The blade must be halfway out for the assembly process.

Next find the spring assembly. There are two metal hooks on each end- notice that they are different lengths.

  • Tomb Raider Kit Instructions.

These are detailed pictures that illustrate the assembly process.

You can get a general idea of the of the assembly method.

The first step is to remove the insert screws (Phillips). Inside you'll find the slide assembly.

Remove the slide assembly. No force is required- ease it out.
