  • Why is it that it's so rare to see a Triceratops enemy in a game USE ITS HEAD TO ATTACK? I mean, you got a perfectly good weapon right there on your face--why use weapons that make you look like a ripoff of the last guy? Ah well, at least he doesn't shoot an unlimited supply of horns at you.

  • @Mahaveez Well, he is half man half triceratops. Not full-fledged triceratops. :)

  • I need to post my speedruns..there are so many slow ways you go about playing.

  • @TheNoisePolluter read the description fool. "Not meant to be a time attack." dude's just having fun with the game

  • angry nerd dissliked this shit lode of ass

  • I could always take or leave Fester's Quest as far as the game itself, goes. The big thing that it had going for it was the fact that Sunsoft made it and their music is always top-notch.

  • You may not realize this, but that whip that Morticia gave Fester came out of the same box as the fuzzy handcuffs and zipper mask.

  • I can can see that you know this game from the inside out. I could never beat this game through rentals. Thanks for playing it for me!

  • Is it just me or are you shooting in sync with the music?

  • @nickagua Holy shit, I was thinking the same thing! So no, it's not just you.

  • Boss reminded me of a Triceredon from TMNT. Clever how it could destroy the dynamite with its whips. :)

  • Some other guy described it as a triceratops wearing a speedo. Scary!

  • I remember buying this game for $5.00 (There was a sale at the K-mart at the time) in March of 1991, when I was 12, and enjoyed this game, but could never beat it. XD

  • @METALLICAFAN0111

Probably the music, and the dark, emptyness of the halls...not knowing what was around the corner, or what was behind those doors.

  • At 3:40 what the heck was that thing chasing you and is it killable?!?! I don't remember that thing from the game. You just ran from it lol. Probably a wise move... Games were so much harder back then...

  • It's a giant scorpion, and running is the best option. It is killable though. It gets faster every time it's hit. Numerous fully powered gun hits or four fully powered whip hits will do it in. But it would surely get to you before you crack the whip four times. So running away is the best method for survival.

  • Just thought of something else. There is a way to not have the giant scorpions appear. When heading to this street area where they appear, have a lesser enemy or enemies follow you on screen, and don't kill em'. For some reason, the giant scorpions don't appear when there are other enemies on the screen. So when you enter an area where giant scorpions prowl, simply have another enemy follow you.

  • we got a little voice-over on that one...

  • I never knew how to cure myself..

    fucking shit!

  • This game is ALOT like Blaster Master

  • I can remember renting his game more than a few times. The NES Advantage controller was a must though. I don't think that Angry Video Game Nerd was totally fair to this game in his review. It's prolly tho only time I've disagreed with him. I fast found out that one had to upgrade to the best weapon before starting the adventure (not that you did this in your walkthrough, but anyhow). I have all in all great memories to this odd gem. Thanks

  • AVGN isn't fair about ALL the games he plays. Castlevania 2, specifically, is reviewed rather harshly. His comment about the Fire Whip in that game being a lame idea to fight the undead pissed me off. Watch friggen Return of the Living Dead, the only way to kill the zombies in that movie was to incinerate them, or blow them up with a nuke. Undead hate fire, that's a horror standard, and AVGN didn't understant that, or even bother to research it?

  • I never cared about his reviews anyhow, that guy's obnoxious. :P

  • @TheCastellan THANK you. I always thought I was the only one who couldn't stand him. :-)

  • @MaxxTheSlash some undead dont like fire, but more importantly his reviews are more for comic purposes than anything

  • is this game is disturbing?

  • Very disturbing

  • omg!

  • why do you not pick up the guns?

  • The red ones are downgrades and the blue ones are upgrades

  • you know, the same thing goes for the whip, except THAT item says "whip"

  • Yes I know that.

  • What does the whip do?

  • It's more powerful than the gun, and is gotten later in the game from the house where Morticia is. It can also reach over barriers, and grab items. Problem is that it's slower than the gun and you can't move while cracking it. And you may accidentaly grab a gun or whip power down with it.

  • 5 21 thats EXACTLLY where i was when i Never Played the game again until i found out about emulators!!!! LOL

  • Man even tho this game has MANY flaws in it i cant stop playing it and i dont blame you for useing the turbo controller cuz you would develop carpal tunnel if u didnt but yah never made it as far as you and i may play this again lol x3

  • This game was so much fun. If you spend a little time in the beginning to max out your gun, it makes everything so much easier.

  • this game looks kinda fun and kinda pretty hard

  • it is just that! ;D

  • wow i am good in guessing

  • never got past that boss. <=[ i would die around 7:08

  • Looks like an awesomely hard game. How could kids figure the way to the bosses out? I know i couldn't have, i'm 24.

The bosses looks hard as well.

  • this was one of the few games that wouldn't be good to play as a kid in a completely darkened basement while it was storming outside...the boss building music while going through the labyrinths was kind of unnerving

  • Don't you hate those pink chompers just short of 1:20? They freaked me out like no tomorrow when I had this game.

  • Full health is only 3 health bars!Another compliment of this game and AVGN whas totaly right about this game.

  • God..the second boss is like...the hardest boss i have ever seen. you have to continue the 8 patters without flubbing once..while trying to hit it...my GOD..no wonder why i hated this game though i played it every day when i was 6

  • I have this game and can give a word of advice. At the very beginning, on that 1at street, go back and forth on it, shooting at the blob things and frog like things till you get the full gun upgrade, then continue on. Also when it comes to the red biting ball like things, use the tnt on them. Don't waste it on the boss. I also found that if you keep making yourself invisible during the boss fights, they don't hurt you as quickly.

  • Also the reason you get the whip, is to help take out the second boss. Try and get the highest upgrade on the whip as well, before going to fight the 2nd monster and continue to fight the 3rd. I was told that the 3rd monster is the hardest, so you gotta be quick and stay alive as long as you can, because that sucker makes you use up just about all your items.

  • & for the big spider that chased you earlier, I find that it's best not to walk in the middle of the street or wait too long in going through the path to the sewers, as then that sucker will come after you.

That's all the advice I can give for now.

  • Oh, my bad. It's not the 3rd one that's the toughest. It's the 4th one. Watch out for him.

  • lol, I like how you shot as the beat played

  • hey man thanks for telling me that. its been YEARS since i played this game . still got it on my nes

  • what did you use to record this? its so perfict!

  • Shooting with the music. I always to the same thing :D

  • i HATED this game....this is one of 2 nintendo games i could never beat haha. This and that wierd ass zapper game To The Earth. Blah

  • And does TNT really do more damage than the highest gun upgrade? Is that why u use it in the boss fight? if so i wasn't aware.

  • I hate that big huge spider that comes out when you are in the long vertical street at around 3 minutes into this video....it always used to kill me when i played it as a kid

  • i dont know what i even saw in this game. between festers quest and wall street kid, '92 was a very traumatic year for me.

although, fatal fury more than made up for it.

  • I hated the Sega cd version of Jurassic Park...that gave me nightmares trying to finish that one...that one and Sewer Shark... o.O

  • freakin' sewer shark..

I loved messing with jurassic park, still do sometimes.

  • tormented your childhood as well, i take it?
