OMG I missed this x.x But thanks so much for filming! It's the next best thing!
And do you know by any chance, if the people attending the concert are regular concert goers or are they specifically anime enthusiasts? Because I have a hard time imagining classical music snobs enjoying this xD
@bluexxfire Most of the front center section (right side of the video) was made up of regular concert-goers. The rest of the audience was mainly composed of anime/video game/movie fans.
Keep in mind that this music is famous not only because it's from a game, but because it's legitimately good. One of the greatest effects of the recent rise of video game music concerts is the realization among more mainstream audiences that video game music can be just as great as music of any other type.
Late reply, sorry! I agree that video game music is one of the best around. I personally don't play video games(not that I dont want to but...lack of funding lol) but I still take time out to listen to the music. But I'm kind of surprised that VGO managed to snag symphony hall simply because, while this type of music certainly is spreading, it's still not as widespread as you make them seem to be.
@bluexxfire Yeah, that's true. The main reason they were able to perform there is the connections they have with Symphony Hall through the faculty of Berklee. It's also important to note that half the concert consisted of popular film music, which I unfortunately couldn't record, and that some of the film composers were guests in attendance.
@pacificamin Probably not. :( Since it's a mostly student orchestra and the director prepares almost everything for the shows himself, it is very difficult and time-consuming, so they don't perform very often.
