They're great pilots don't get me wrong, they have the same skills, same training etc however as an entire Air Force they don't have the numbers to take on a larger force. They do have good equipment for the size of the Air Force however sometimes to cover an area especially the size of Australia in case of invasion you do need alot more. Especially since the countries in South East Asia are well equip. We have your backs though don't worry ;) Australia has an alright Navy though.

You can't just use autopilot in a dogfight, that would just be retarded. You have to tell the auto pilot the heading, altitude and speed , it will adjust itself to meet the specifications that the pilot imputed. The Auto pilot cannot engage enemy units, and cannot react to incoming missile's. So if a pilot where to engage autopilot in a dogfight. He/She would get their ass handed to them.

i remember that the whole debate was to get the f18 for it's twin engines as the mirage suffered many losses due to its one powerplant....hence the f111 and f18... yet now they are chosing the F35...another big mistake IMO but hey, it engages industry and international alliances...thates the main reason even though its not the public one.

I don't know why there is not report of RAAF buying F-15SE Silent Eagle. Boeing is looking for cutting down F-15SE Silent Eagle price tag $100 million down. The RAAF worry to much that Malaysia might Sukhoi PAK FA T-50 in the future well that is not true. Russia only join partnership of PAK FA to India right now. The only future fighters that RMAF going get is Su-35 Super Flanker E.

@USAAIRPOWER I heard the f-15 airframes are already developing premature cracks and failures, so how much long are you planning to run your "silent eagles"? No matter how good an aircraft there is only so many hours you can keep it in the air before the airframe has to be replaced. Hence why Australia had to replace the f-111 wih superhornets instead of waiting for the f-35.

F-15 is a perfect aircraft because you don't to have trouble with engines, air frames, & everything. Unlike Sukhoi Fighters always cause more crash, engine problems, and collide many times. Also remember Ukraine Air Show in January 27, 2002 a Sukhoi crash to the crowds killed 85 spectators. Also giving F-15SE Silent Eagle to RAAF will kept their air space a lot safer. The Truth is Sukhoi Fighter never beaten F-15 in real world air combat in shotdown fro real.

thats not the story ive been told....i was under the belief that the super hornets were a stop gap solution until we had the f35s..due to the massive delays in expected delivery coinciding with the aging airframes- as well as a deal done due to the increased cost of the F35s compared to when the agreement was made...and your assessment of the f35 being better than the F22 is completely off..its not even close in every aspect...there are official comparisons available..
