Fanny Ardant en "Callas Forever" (parte 1)

She resembled a lot but i didn't like some parts while singing, she didn't open her mouth correctly, i can tell as an opera singer

I thought that she did a good job portraying Maria Callas, with the exception of her accent. If you listen to interviews with Maria Callas from the 1970s, she basically has an American accent. But the accent didn't bother me that much. What did bother me was the fact that even though it is mentioned at least twice in the film that, "This is 1977," the director didn't make much of an effort to make it look like 1977.

All Zeffirelli had to do was look at some of the interviews and news clips of her from the 1970s to see what the hair and clothing styles looked like. Throwing in an old car here and there just didn't do it for me, especially when you can see all the modern cars and minivans in the background!!

Her face is too skinny to play Maria. She looks more like Charlotte Rampling playing Maria Callas, and even at 54 Callas didn't have all the wrinkles she does, so whatever.

No resemblance whatsoever. Just a little make-up could have helped. Callas had very dark, pronounced and expressive eyebrows.

I think Ardant is a fabulous actress....but......Im not to satisfied with her as Callas......she did a great job......but...maybe.......i dont know but.....they could of tried harder to search for another female that could of resembled Callas more similarly in a physical manner...

non dare la colpa alla ardant che è una bravissima attrice, quì la colpa è di zeffirelli che non è più capace di dirigere decentemente gli attori...il film infatti è un pastrocchio, confuso, lento, a tratti patetico e inconcludente....una sceneggiatura così brutta zeffirelli non la metteva in scena dai tempi del disastroso "giovane toscanini"...!
