  • One of the things I miss most about Japan is the street festivals. Street food and beer. Plus you get plenty of exercise walking around, which means more street food and beer of course...

  • nice footage ^^

  • 2:30 what is that food?

BTW you making me want to drink at 4am damn you! lol

    Love the outtro!

  • Hello toddatron

Thanks for this great viev in the Japanese culture.

Your videos are always great. I guess it was an awesome festival.

I never been in Jaoan but we have a small Japanese comunity

who has once a year a festival in August but I can´t wait because of

your vido for the tasty food and try to cook Japanese next week ;-)

    Have a nice weekend

    Greetings

    Thorsten

  • @thorstyboy Nice! go and have fun!

  • If you had worn a yukata and a pair of geta, I would've given this video a thumbs-up. C'mon, get with the program, dude!

  • @TiramisuHappy I have one! O.k. I will next time! A little shy but I will.

  • @toddatron

Dude, where do you live? Where DO YOU LIVE???

    You live in JAPAN!!!

You're SUPPOSED TO wear a yukata to your local "natsu matsuri."

    Do NOT disappoint me again!

  • @TiramisuHappy Let me know when you are coming to Tokyo. We should hangout here at my place in yukata oyaji style!

  • @toddatron

Haha, yukata OYAJI. Speak for yourself, dude. I'm not THAT old, yet! (Well actually, I AM middle-aged now technically speaking.) Thanks for the invite. I'll take you up on it! Actually, if you could take me to Matsumoto, that would be wonderful!! Saitama just sucks! ; P

  • :( missed your live blog!! Will you be doing another one soon?

  • Those lanterns where so amazing, where they for sale and if so how much?

    3:36 beautiful shot.

Love this video, the mixture of live shots and still photos and the music where just beautiful made, had a nice feeling to it.

Thank you, it made my day.

  • matsuri rocks...that's why I want to visit Japan in the summer...

  • Awesome dude, great vid. Amazing how people looks all so friendly.

  • looks like a great day out , wow those lanterns are fantastic

  • Beer & yakitori, nice : )

  • Sounds like everyone was having a good time but it looked like they were hot and miserable!!! LOL!!

Hahahah!!!! Nice mood music with the lanterns and at the end but not very Matsuri like...

  • Cool stuff, I do love Japanese art and old buildings! :)

  • Summer is the time they have matsuri all over the place huh? That's one thing I really would've liked to see when I was there (つД`)

  • I love festivals! The yummy stuff on the grill at 3:00, that was yakisoba right? The amount they give you is awsome! And those lanterns were really lovely. Do you know if they were hand painted?

  • @Eszra They represent donors for the festival. Some look like the donors painted them and perhaps the others were painted by volunteers from the temple if the donor didn't want to paint his own. Those were really nice. I usually see a simple lamp with the name of the donor written on it.

  • What are they making at 2:14 ?

  • @buzzard5000 I think its origin is China but its a pancake with ground pork and veggies inside.

  • @buzzard5000 its a Chinese version of a paratha

  • @MrJingjong Thank you.

  • i love that mystic music u put on the last half part of the video ,music like that i use it for meditation, i was wondering if they have meditation center and how rare is that in japan?

  • All that food and beer looks SO good! Bet it tastes wonderful on a hot Summer evening!

  • Holy crap, those string lights look pretty :D That looks like alot of fun ! :D
