One more thing. Just as believers are prone to seeing what they want to see. So are the people that don't believe. The non-believer is willing to accept conspiracy over the miracle.
"The non-believer is willing to accept conspiracy over the miracle." I'm not a fan of conspiracy nuts, but a hoax/exaggeration/mass delusion will always be more preferable to a claim of supernatural intervention. This is both justified by our understanding of how the world works (i.e. naturally) and the track record of "miracles" like this actually being hoaxes, mass delusions, etc. in the different religions.
Also, I have relatives that live there and they were witnesses as well. As far as your hypothesis - they have merit but they do not debunk this. They are many phenomena in the world that still elude our understanding. I have seen works first hand. Despite being an engineer and a radiological physicist I have been amazed at what is possible yet unexplained.
"They are many phenomena in the world that still elude our understanding." That's a non-sequitur: the fact that other things are unexplained doesn't mean this one cannot be or has not been explained.
I will reiterate again that there were thousands of eyewitnesses to this event. Christians, Muslims, and non-believers. This made the Egyptian state run media news. The Coptic Orthodox Church officially declared this an apparition - and they just don't do it if there wasn't merit to the apparition. The video I witnessed was on the web at one time, it showed the apparition move from the entrance of the church and then move up between the two towers..
I have seen footage where the apparition does move. This live vent that was witnessed by believers and non-beilievers. All you did is prove what you want to believe. This was such an event that the Islamic media was going crazy over it. If these are all edited videos. I suggest you take your own video and prove it. So far all I see is hypothesis and conjecture. No proof that it truly didn't happen.
@xzxb7c Actually, you are correct, the image does move. It is because of the angle the camera man has to where the lights were. They were on a ledge or roof, and when the angle shifted, so did the image. Really though, even if it had moved, it wasn't a physical object, just a blurry light. I would suggest white halogen with a fog emitter if the natural moisture in the air that night didn't negate the need for it.
Because the church had bright lights on in the middle of the night in the minaret, Wouldn't you go look? An overactive imagination primed by religious beliefs did the rest.
Another question for you: If the footage with the so-called "Mary" above the entrance gate is not actually the minaret in the background, but Mary feet away from them, then why are people so calm and looking mostly off to the left of the "Mary" and in other directions? Watch: watch?v=68-9lY5zM5M from ca. 1:23
and I also provide an explanation for why the "apparition" on the entrance gate looks smaller than the other "apparitions, because it's just the minaret seen from a greater distance between the two front towers. I also show with the last footage, that the light set up inside the minaret is switched off and after that the minaret becomes clearly visible as the place of origin. You've been duped into believing a hoax. I feel sorry for you.
Incorrect. In addition to showing that a mere adjustment of only brightness, sharpness and contrast gives a similar "apparition" appearance to the minaret (I did not use "Photoshop"), I also showed that there is no footage of Mary floating around, the three "apparition" locations just happen to coincide with the position of the minaret if seen from the same angle, the colour pattern of "Mary" just happens to coincide with the minaret colour pattern, Ctd.
The adjustment of the sharpness and contrast reflects the poor quality of the original night footage. The adjustment of the brightness, reflects the brightness of the light used in the minaret to fool these people. This event happened in the early hours of the morning, so few people would have seen it first and then more would have come awakened by the noise and or bright light and curious to see what all the fuss was. Confirmation bias and wishful thinking did the rest.
Why is there no footage of "Mary" actually floating from one place to the next? Why do all the "different" places "Mary" "appeared" in just happen to coincide with the minaret observed from different angles. Why is the colour pattern of the lights of the lit minaret, i.e. golden lit cross, bluish lit top section and yellowish lit bottom section exactly the same as the colour pattern of "Mary"? Why does the "apparition" switch off like a light inside the minaret in the last footage?
Indeed, lots of people seeing what they desperately wanted to see. And then even when you show them it's false, they will say that this is not essential to their faith.
As far as i know, Virgin Mary will appear as human as she is ... so there would be no skeptic & no debunked. Observed the history of the apparitions.

"there were thousands of eyewitnesses to this event." So? Many of those said in news reports that it was just a light show.
"This made the Egyptian state run media news." "Jesus" on cheese toast makes international headlines. What's your point?
"The Coptic Orthodox Church officially declared this an apparition" No, they "approved" it, which is a different thing.
"The video I witnessed was on the web at one time" Sure, the most compelling video magically disappeared.

Where is the video of "Mary" moving? You said you saw it so I have to assume you know where to find it again. Put up or shut up. Where is the video?
Who is believeing what they want to believe (and lying) now?

It's people looking at a building ink block test and seeing what they want to see.
Movement is create from perspective. The tower in the back appears to move when the viewer moves from one location to the next.
Much like how the sun is the center of our solar system but by the earth's perspective we see it moving, but off course it's not. The Earth is moving.
The huge problem here is that people do not understand perspectives and how they work, also being fanatical doesn't help.
