stretch marks aren't hereditary, at least not in my case... I got em and my sis didn't. If you do get them they DO NOT look like this forever. My daughters 2 1/2 and mine are my skin color now. You can still see them but they aren't dark anymore.

Did you know it's proven that some people are more genetically predisposed to getting stretchmarks than others? I have 2 children (3 is excessive) and have stretchmarks. Not over weight, I ran and did pilates (Having lean muscle helps burn extra calories) and am a US Army soldier so I worked throughout my pregnancies. So really, shut up. This is a beautiful moment for a mother and you are ruining it with your idiocy.

It will sooth a poor aching belly sure, but won't change the elasticity of your skin lol. ONLY thing you can do to help is drink PLENTY OF WATER. Ask your mother if she got them while pregnant with you, if yes then you will probably have stretch marks. Good news is that they do fade and over time you won't notice them.
You could just invest in some cocoa butter and do stretches. I did yoga during all of my pregnancy and used cocoa butter 2-3 times per day. I have no stretch marks. :) Being fit before getting pregnant can also help you to not show as quickly and reduce stretch marks... it's really all about how you take care of yourself during your pregnancy! All a matter of perspective on whether or not they're pretty.. I'm a mom, but I disagree with them being attractive. Maybe one or two is cute..

scratching doesn't cause stretch marks, but i believe it can make them worse because it tugs on the already stretched to the max skin. if you gain your weight steadily, drink plenty of water, eat right, and keep your skin covered in a deep moisturizer it will help. so no matter what you do you may get them anyway, but doing those things will help.

People have no common sense these days scratching doesnt cause stretch marks. scratching doesn't cause stretch marks, but i believe it can make them worse because it tugs on the already stretched to the max skin. if you gain your weight steadily, drink plenty of water, eat right, and keep your skin covered in a deep moisturizer it will help. so no matter what you do you may get them anyway, but doing those things will help.

I'm only 22 I had my baby when I was 20 years old and I had stretch marks just like her..... it's really unavoidable because when you get pregnant and your skin stretches that is what happens..... wow it kills me how stupid people can be!!! I would like to say for those of you who are staying she brought the stretch marks on her self, this is false. There is NO cream that can prevent stretch marks its all down to the flexibility of your skin. Every stretch mark that I see appearing on my body makes me sad, but it is a part of an unreal experience and I wouldn't change it for the world!
