still smokin da weed n still listening to pure class tracks like this, pure divine music. i want to go back to a better place and do it all again, smoke slowing the mind pills speeding the brain
Takes me back to my younger days doin e's and smoking weed... Tunes like this take you places.. Wish i could go back there.. but i cant, all i have is a memory.. and this tune... i love it!
This tune always takes me back to WORLDDANCE about 5 in the morning hanger doors wide open and the sun coming up with the rays breaking through over the crowd. Great days.
@loudrockmusic1 Theres still good drum n bass tunes getting played out at warehouse and renegade parties! Just dont look to the clubs that intimidate the sound with shitty jump up! Shits just underground again bud! =)
I'm sorry but the old school style is just so far and beyond superior to the current style words can not even being to describe it. You know why you can't buy a complete album these days and listen song one to the end without skipping? Simple, the artists aren't as good as they used to be. Old school albums you start at song one, and you end up forgetting there is even separate songs. They roll into each-other so much better than cacophonous rattle that is todays standard bass.
What you have to remember about music from say 15 years ago to now, is it WAS better back then, because labels had to invest in good tracks. If they were going to get a press of vinyl done, which would cost them money, or CD's with cases etc, they had to know it was a good artist. These days, when its all downloads, it costs nothing to produce and distribute, hence anyone can put any crap out there.
I just started to listen to DnB. The older songs are better in general, but there are a few newer artists who are good, imo. Same with dubstep and mostly any genre today. Older usually sounds better. Not trying to be a contrarian, just my observation.
@Patheios I feel the same way, I actually hadn't known LTJ bukem until a few months of listening to the current producing dnb artists and I can definitely see where they get their inspiration from.
jesus christ, if some people still think dnb today is dead...go fuck yourself. how can you say that with artists like spectrasoul, alix perez, icicle, noisia, break, phace, hybris and a whole host of others releasing increasingly groundbreaking, experimental and revolutionary stuff BY THE MONTH? go listen to hybris's invisible mix and tell me dnb is dead, you deaf idiots.
@OwnedRL 100% Agree man. I like the old skool style in particular more so for nostalgia reasons than anything else, but anyone saying 'DnB is dead' is either ignorant to the quality artists out there, or is stubborning hung up on the stigma that new DnB is synonymous with bad. Speaking of Stigmas, Stigma by Noisia - quality DnB.
i think drum and bass has marely just evolved from the euphoric airey sound drum and bass lines that are supper sweet to chill and laxout, to sharp driving bass wobble that makes your heart rate speed up and makes you want to punch a small asian child. which is sick btw :)
Yeah, Maya Angelou! The fact that this music is still enjoyed after so many years, is a testament to its greatness. Bukem and Conrad have stood the test of time. Even their style has evolved. As all things should with time!
This is an epic track and it doesn't matter whether its old or new. People should stop worrying about whether old skool is better than the modern stuff.
Understandably they have a different sound but remember the old stuff and be open to the new stuff. Surely it was an open mind that made u like the old school in the first place :-)
please can anyone help i am looking for the ltj/conrad mix the one with the kung fu bit that goes something like this .....ah the old mans been teaching you some tricks eh.. whats your name boy (boy replys) hando jin and im here to do to you what you did to my father ten years ago in the woods.....
sounds a bit susspect i know but it hella good mix and cant remeber which progression its on
if the new dnb sounded like this it would be dead?? ur havin a laugh!! this is an epic tune...ltj, kenny, randall, fabio, brockie, micky, hype, to mention a few...if u aint eva stepped into the arena when these dj's have been playin u aint witnessed real jungle/dnb....pendulum is the only crew that holds up compared with them these days!! and as for the mc's that shout shit over the mic these days...gq, moose, 5'0, navi, conrad all knock em into fits!! jokers
@uknuttah ... "pendulum is the only crew that holds up ..." pen is wack.
the people who holds up the line are k&d the thievery corp ore something like this, the new styles like pen or nero or netsky etc. didnt compare with "this", becouse they are not chill out sound like the olden goldie or ltj or so on...
lol i told some friends about dnb they never heard of it..!!!!!! the only music they like is some kinda rap man they only go like ''i miss you'' and ''i love you'' bla bla !

Based on your favorites all I'll say is remember your roots, without Jungle and DnB labels the mainstream shit that's considered Dubstep nowadays would never exist. Chances are you know jack shit about the Jungle/breakbeat genre and learned about Dubstep at EDC or some other commercialized "Rave". Ahah it's hilarious how much of a wannabe douche you are, are you really still bringing glowsticks to events? What is this ninety fuckin' eight? Get ur shit straight and get into some good hiphop too.
Even if todays dnb is trash, I think its it awsome that the standard set back in the day is evolving into new standards for the future. Though I do believe a new standard hasn't been set yet. I love the diversity and wouldn't want it any other way.
But I'll always prefer the old standards above the new to be ones. But thats because of the personal experience. Not because I think new = trash.
@adribe01 I don't think todays dnb is trash at all. The large part of it however is just not my taste. I'm not naive and label todays dnb as trash just because it's new. I accept the fact that music changes over time. I prefer it actually. But I don't prefer todays dnb because it's simply not my taste. The old dnb carries some memories which makes listening to it more enjoyable for me. I'm sure you can understand regardless if you share the same tastes in music as me or not.
Kind of a trippy song!
