WONDERFULL, HIPNOTISING, I LOVE IT... ITS LIKE A FUSION FOR ME SOME BELLY DANCE AND SOME HAWAIAN, I NEVER SAW THIS KIND OF FUSION - I LOVE IT - THE PEACE AND RELAX :D GREAT!!!!!
The term "belly dance" is a translation of the French danse du ventre which was applied to oriental dance in the Victorian era. The term is somewhat misleading, as every part of the body is involved; the most featured body part usually is the hips. Belly dance takes different forms in different regions, both in costume and dance style,
Lovely! This isn't bellydance though, it is a fusion of polynesian dance and bellydance. I would say it is polynesian with a bellydance flavour. There are many other vids of Sonia performing bellydance on YT. :)
Shes cute and soft, but in my opinion she lacks spontaneity which is essential in Raqs el Shark.
Watch Randa Kamel, one of the biggest dancers of Egypt today, tell me then what you think, it might not be of your taste, but that is what reall belly dancing is all about, knowing the music, interpreting it by heart, singing it, living it...only a true Egyptian can do that!
My preference is Sonia overall. Some other stylish dancers - not as well known include Malika, Jaklina and Oganya - check out some of my favs - and thanks for watching.
Sorry, I realised that you can't really find Blanca's performance under "Enter the Temple-Remix", you can find it under this name here on youtube: "Bellydance - Blanca (NYC) belly dance The Golden Apple DVD". Enjoy! :-D Oh, and thankyou for posting this beautiful video of Sonia!
I completely agree with you!! ♥ She is naturaly graceful :-D Simply, gorgeous! You might also like a bellydancer named Blanca. She dances with grace as well :-) Her "Enter the Temple-Remix" dance is beautiful!
