  • There is no such thing as a news organization without a bias.

  • @Mostdef Oh there definitely are, it's just that such news organisations are generally perceived as boring as they can't go too far into controversial topics without favouring one side or the other (if only because they give certain opinions more air-time than others).

  • @BaileysBeads name one

  • @BaileysBeads name one

  • @Mostdef The very subject of this video: Al Jazeera English. I personally also like my own country's (Netherlands) News, the NOS, they churn out the most boring and dry news you can imagine, but at least it's accurate and free from bias, it's literary like they couldn't care either way what happens in the world, they just report it.

  • pbs news hour does a great job delivering the "news"

  • the conservatives wouldnt watch it cause they would find it to liberal, and vice versa

    HERPADERP!!!

  • Even if you say nothing but the truth, it can still be misleading. What if you made reports on NASA, but ignored the space agencies of other countries? Also, when you have the reputation of being trustworthy, people will be more willing to believe you - even when you make mistakes. There are problems with blatant misinformation, but I think it's a very bad idea to shut off your brain when listening to any news station.

  • In the last video I watched ("Trick or Treat"), you were upset at the grammar used by a child... Yet you use "could be made more better" in the description? Hypocritical! ;)

I agree though tbh; the news is so biased these days :(

  • try the CBC, its usually pretty good. Its owned by the Canadian People (govt) so it cant really afford much of a bias on anything.

  • hello

  • al Jazeera sucks

  • ROJ tv :D

  • If you dont want bull shit dont watch fox news :P

  • thank you preety lady.. hahahahahahahaha

  • News is as slanted as a slanty thing on national slant day

  • Well here is some advice "stay away from Fox News"

  • @yushinzzo They're better than CNN and MSNBC. What's left? The newspaper? Bah...it' so old fashoned. XD

  • @yushinzzo Well here is some advice "stay away from CNN".

    FIXED

  • You should check out Wikileaks! It's the raw facts (facts being the authentic leaked documents, whether or not the authors of the documents are being honest is a separate issue) with the agenda being transparency, so I think it's worth a good solid perusal.

  • I second that mate!

  • i like your cartoon, made me laugh, i'd like to know what you think of mine 'roy and alan take a gamble

  • It's almost funny how quickly the comment pages on somegreybloke's videos turn into senseless arguments about things that are totally unrelated to the videos themselves.

Exhibit A: The debate between MannequinArmy and jumpingjesusholycow. Sorry I have to pick you two as targets, it's nothing personal, but come on! You're arguing about the effectiveness of the National Health System! Did you even watch the video? If not, I'll summarize it for you: It's about bias in media. You're welcome.

  • I'd rather live in a Liberal Democracy than in a Fascist Dictatorship or a Communist Dictatorship. Why is it that Stridently Right-of-Centre people always Lump Cummunists and Socialists and Liberal Democrats in the same group? They are not the same thing. Fascist take away all your possessions and murder you, and Communists take away all your possessions and murder you. Oh, and they both cannot tolerate debate or dissent. Result is the same.

  • communists are not interested in murdering you, you should actually learn the true definition of what communism is.

  • "thank you, pretty lady" LOL

  • Al Jazeera English is, sadly, extremely pro-muslim every time

  • ummm, you obviously have never watched it. I'm a journalist in Canada who thinks Aljazeera English is one of the best international news stations in the world (and I don't work for them).

  • If you honestly think so lol, you must be quite slow.

  • wtf, it should be because they started that way. no one asked you to watched it.. yes?

  • I swear that's what the BBC is sposed to do

  • ye supposed to do...

  • HAHA

Come check out our new cartoon "Cannabis Leif" Miley Cryus gets JIZZED on in the newest episode!!

  • that doesnt sound very appealing actually. no thank you

  • Why do so many weirdos have arguements over random youtube videos?

  • Mainly because we can't help ourselves. When I see idiocy, I have to combat it. Trying to save the world, I guess. Looking around, I don't think I'm succeeding. The communist/socialist worshipers are growing in number.

  • Nothing Is True, Everything Is Permitted.

  • loll

  • Thats so true.

  • Yeah let me know when that news channel becomes a reality, that would be great

  • ??? that news channel is real and has been up for ages :S

  • why argue??

chuck norris will smite us all down anyway

  • No one has any right to be sceptical of Al Jazeera as long as Bill O'Reilly has his own show.

  • That's an insane argument. Everyone has a right to be skeptical of both Bill O'Reilly and Al Jazeera. The existence of either one does not negate a persons right to be skeptical of the other.

  • Oh, certainly. I personally try to be sceptical to everything. I was just pointing out the double standards.

  • Are you trying to tell me that Bill O'Reilly isn't satire ? No, surely you're joking. He's funnier than the Colbert Report.

  • the english version is good but not as good as the arabic one. The english version is still slightly biased but the arabic one is just the truth.

  • Al Jazeera is a very good news station which highlights the truth. People are just prejudiced because its arabic.

  • In the UK, Channel 4 news is probably the most unbiased - but of course no one watches it because nobody finds it exciting :D

BBC Is generally unbiased too but they do sensationalise stuff

  • British

    Brainwashing

    Channel

  • And I have to say, as a David Icke supporter myself, you come across REALLY crazy, it's not helping, stop alienating people, that wont wake anyone up.

  • more better = wrong. lol

  • Heh, do you think they will do what he said?

  • "You don't want to know the truth. All you're interested in is the skin on its teeth!" - Absence of Malice

I don't think its possible to be 100% unbiased. Everyone in meadia is going to filter to some degree the way they present the facts. Its a part of being human.

Knowing this, I consider it my job to watch a little from both sides because I know the truth usually somewhere in between rather than on the x-files as the conspiracy idiots would have you believe.

  • This is brilliant sarcasm. He is asking you to think, question why you belive XYZ. The stronger you believe it, the tougher the questions. Dogma shuns questions and is therefore on the road to extinction.

  • your me i think

all news channels are wack jazera bbc nbc abc fuck all of that

beleive what you gotta beleive :D

  • I belive in communisem =D

  • Then you should learn how to spell it.

  • Comie-moow-isems =)

  • Communism. Hope you starve to death.

  • Why the hate for communism? do you hate sharing or something?

  • Straw man. Communism has nothing to do with sharing and everything to do with removing from people their human privileges and rights. It is a system of control, to keep people in check, and to treat them like livestock and to keep them on the edge of starvation at all times.

  • Lol? have you looked at capitalist country's lately? Australia is becoming more controlled than china, we are a capitalistic democracy. The USA too is becoming more controlled.

Communism is a great concept and it takes a special kind of asshole to deny that.

  • I believe socialism may be more your flavor.

  • Yeah.

  • the reason capitalistic countries are taking individual rights is because of the growing acceptance of socialism.

communism, while it may seem smart and fair, is a type of government which gives power to a select group of people. Yes, everything might be 'shared' and 'fair' but it would be in the lowest sense possible.

i know it's extraordinarily popular, but you've read 1984, have you not?

  • All systems of government do that, government in general is bad, but communism is a better system to live in.

  • no it isnt

  • What shining insight you have there. Really, your argument is truly amazing, what, with your facts, reliable sources and good points... Wait, you just said 'no it isnt'? Ah.

  • lol but it isnt just look at the past 'communist' states.

  • You think hitler was any worse than the us empire? the british empire? no. they are just opressing a diferent group of people.

  • uh hitler wasnt a communist

  • He was an extreme socialist, which seems similar to communism to capitalist citizens.

  • He was a National Socialist, hence the term Nazi. Not an 'extreme socialist'. Though he WAS an extremist I guess...

  • I used extreme as a general adjective, hence the lower case spelling.

  • Okay..I get that. Though actual 'Socialism' and 'National Socialism' are two VERY different things. Trust me, you need the 'National' before the 'Socialist' to describe hitler.

  • I agree.

In fact, hittler deliberately used 'socialist' in his party's name. this was to appeal to 'the little man' or the masses of the people.

In reality National Socialism is like saying evil goodness; the first word ruin the meaning of the later.

  • Yep. He used the word socialism in order to get into power. He made it seem as if he was delivering a fair and just society whereby blaming the problems of capitalism (unemployment, economic instability) on the jews. At the end of the day, he was a massive douche. I think that much can be said at least.

  • All great socialists have been massive douche bags.

  • Except without Socialism, we wouldn't have things like the NHS, which to this day has saved thousands of lives. Including my own.

  • NHS = national health system, yes? That's killed more people than it's saved.

  • Fair enough. You have your own opinion though the truth is, I, like many others, wouldn't have been able to afford private healthcare and they've saved my life after I was in a car crash, as well as the lives of people I know and my own family. I think that's pretty damn commendable.

  • It's more than an opinion, it's a fact. However, I'm not disputing what it might have done for you. I'm glad it was useful to someone.

  • quote: "it's a fact"

    Um...no it's not.

  • @DosWallandros Wait, wait. You think socialism is a /good/ thing?

  • @MannequinArmy:

    What you suggest is correct.

Mind that, like any economical ideology, you have to attach the right things to it to be any good.

All too many believes that totalitarianism and hirearchy automaticly follows socialism, while they in fact are not very compatible.

  • 1984 is about the Soviet Union and stalinist totalitarianism, not Socialism.

  • 1984 is not about the Soviet Union, that's Animal Farm.

  • Indeed, Orwell was a bit of a socialist himself.

It was written against absolute dictatorship, left or right.

  • Have you read it?

    Think again.

  • Obviously, you're right about the Soviet Union and Stalin (cf. Big Brother's description).

I meant that the realisation of Socialism and how everything in the 'revolution' was a lie is under fire in 1984.

Just thought I'd clear that up.

  • 1984 is about and was all about me being born! and Michael Jackon!

  • The news you are looking for is the Onion News Network, you can find them on Youtube.

  • foff

  • Great video, as always! Now conspiracy theorists aside, (media control by the Gov't lol)

CNN IS LEFTIST media, liberals and the like, most news stations today focus more on entrainment than on truth. Most stations are either to the left or to the right of the political spectrum. The best thing to do is to listen to both and try to get some factual information towards the middle! But that's too much work sometimes. lol

  • all news and mass media are tools for the government to indoctrinate its people

  • Right now, CNN is probably your best bet. Of course, I don't know if you get CNN in the UK, or if you still only get BBC. And what's your position on Scotland's independence?

  • There is no CNN in the UK but we have other news channels such as SKY news.

  • I hurt myself laughing at that comment. I think you should reverse the order of your post, as the first comment about CNN being your best bet for unbiased and the truth was probably the funniest. It makes for a good closing act. Displaying your ignorance about how widespread CNN is, no doubt is up there. Implying that somegreybloke might be against Scotland's independance on account of him being british is good though. It's a solid act.

  • Dream ON! That will never happen because so long as Organized Religion and Governments have been in bed together They'll continue to Sodomize the people. both mentally and physically! Example: The Catholic Church, The Mormons, Branch Dividians, Muslims and on and on and on into infinity.

  • Religion. Your classic expression of the time honored phrase "Bullshit in, bullshit out".

  • Have you cross-referenced that?

  • The problem is not too much information, it is too few parties reporting it.

There are just a handful of international corporations controlling the 'news', and you can be sure they aren't interested in telling us the truth.

  • have you considered Onion News?

    xD

  • if you want absolute truth then your pretty much fucked....

as for finding people without an agenda...

your pretty much fucked there too...

  • and absolute truth media channel....

that would be... very very... blank..

There is extreamly little absolut truth...

I mean i've found arguments agains "I think thereform i am"

    its closer to...

"i persive myself as something that is experiencing perseptions"

existens need not be rooted in one singular entity..

the soul might be a window through which something else is watching....

  • On the subject of impartiality, I want a religion that emerged from a guy or a group of people that is the 100% absolute truth, with no bias at all and no financial or political agenda and no spin. Who should i believe? How should i worship? I'm so lost...

..say..greybloke, you seem like a good guy, have you had any revelations from on high recently?

  • LOL.

Let me guess - this wasn't broadcast on Al Jazeera.

    Thank you, pretty bloke.

  • lol

  • i have en english accent but i get no attention

  • me too, but don't mind about me

  • Thank you. Pretty Lady.

    ROFL.

  • 100 percent truth? Well, good luck with that.

  • i`ve found it on a news channel called Fox. really great stuff, no liberal bias bullshit at all.

  • well, i`m gay but i dont think that makes a difference to my politics...other than a dislike for bigots...what is your poin?

Also how do i find jesus, i looked under my bed,i looked out the window, then i just gave up, a bit 2 much effort if u ask me,

maybe i'll true tomorrow, just one more day of atheism,or maybe a deathbed conversion woild do the trick, you know, live a life of sin now and repent later, it seems like the best choice, cheers :)

  • He was behind the sofa the whole goddamn time! XP

  • Is their even the slighest chance he'll be bringing Elvis with him? (preferably not fat Elvis) If you could ask someone in direct contatct with the 'big guy' and get back to me I'd much appreciate it.

    Good day

  • Britain has Murdoch's SkyNews, which is bad but not as bad as Fox Noise. The Brits wouldn't put up with Fox's propaganda. I live in Europe where Al-Jazeera English is available by satellite or DSL or cable. It is the best news chain I have seen. Apparently it is too honest to be shown in the U.S.

  • We also have the bbc ;)

  • Al Jazeera is good, gives a new insight rather the BS on CNN/FOX

  • another tip on how news could be better: talk about the real issues in the world instead of superfical/masked stories.

i can't help but laugh at all the ridiculous stories that are posed as a serious matter.

  • Sarcasm aside, did you know that Fox Newspeak cannot broadcast from Great Britain, but Al Jazeera can. Yep, GB has a rule that news providers must be relatively free from opinion (though I'm not sure what criterea they use). What this means is that according to the british regulator Al Jazeera is less biased and more free from opinionated commentary than Fox Newspeak. Hugh Miles wrote a book about Al Jazeera, and appeared on NPR's show Talk of the Nation Jan 8, 2008 you can hear the archives

  • It's a shame some of their staff are still in Guantanamo. It's clear to anyone that they weren't really biased. Not nearly to the extent of most american news stations. But propaganda muddied the water and this channel that was banned in iraq was seen as the enemies mouth piece. Still, that stereotype of them is disappearing but some are still in american capitivity. Makes you wonder about america. Freedom of press my arse.

  • How does that rule work then? Since Murdoc own news corp which owns fox news, an he also owns sky (news)an a number of papers. Plus sky has an affiliation with fox for the covering american news. Are you saying a fox journalist can't broadcast a story from britain back to america? sounds awfully strange. Are you making it all up?

  • I'm not sure of the specifics, but when I heard the interview I got the impression that they may not own a license to broadcast, which is different from merely having a foreign correspondant reporting out of GB. I guess you'll have to read the book (sorry I haven't).

  • lol thank you preatty lady

  • she was soooo hot

  • The ultimate goal of any news source is to be objective as possible, but biases and prejudices seep into the news no matter how hard we try to keep things objective. so the absolute truth about something going on in the world can never be known unless you part of it. And besides those who try to keep things objective, there are those who have a political agenda to meet and want to alter the way we think in some way, so they insert fragmentations and editions to distort the news.

  • Captain Obvious to the rescue!

  • As much as I love thinking of Captain Obvious saying "you are falling to your death" to someone who is falling to their death, I have to say, dillj's point may be obvious to you, but others might not be so educated. :P

  • Such people probably don't know the meaning of words like 'objective' and 'agenda' though.

  • Good point indeed, but that's what dictionaries are for. Then again, some of those people won't even be able to use a dictionary. Oh well.

  • "The ultimate goal of any news source is to be objective as possible"

No, the ultimate objective is to publish as many of the proprietor's biases as the advertisers will allow.

  • "Thank you, pretty lady" LMAOOMSOADSOHOD@#S!!!WXDxD

  • hahaha dat got me too! thank u pretty lady LOLOLOL

  • OMG OMG OMG!

  • Brainache

  • hahah, that was the funniest shit ever.

  • where did you get yours?

  • just get a cheap lie detector voice analyzer put it ontop of your tv and know whats actually going on .... there cheap to .. well relatively

  • Except in most cases the lies are relayed second hand:read off of a teleprompter by people who didn't write them and often don't care about what they are reading.

  • A broadcasting network that's 100% honest! Brilliant!

  • Awesome!

  • Hey, watch the newslide show on the Wii console. The titles tell you nothing important, if anything at all. So... you can awsume it's true even though it really doesn't matter.

  • Thank you pretty lady? :)))

  • he means the anchor woman who tells the news.

sorry i dint get it at first either. (:

  • Nothing like al Jazeera

  • After watching this I am subscribing to this blue bloke.

  • well its not muslims but its still some fanatical fucktards who are involved in islam religion and are actualy killing other ppl i dont see any problem by why do they do this in the name of something that does not exist...

  • BUT* why do they...

  • There are fanatics in every walk of life unfortunatly. Maybe some of it is mental illness, but others just need someone to follow. Even if they are telling you to commit suicide and kill for what? A promise of something great when you are dead.... Now that is insane thinking.

  • yeah but when u say it verbally it sounds like fuck me....and since when does someones name sounding like fuck me make them a terrorist????

  • Actually click on Al Jazeera English. I think she says her name is "here a fuck me" Seriosly, go and watch it. Tell me that Im not crazy! lol

  • LMAO.. it really does sound like she said that.

  • lots and loooots

  • YouTube is better than TV.

  • you never gona get the 100% truth /files/85144764/GREECE.rar

  • wtf Al Jazzera is on LBC...

  • fox is the american version of al jazeera

  • fox is the american version of tass. al jazeera is the arabic version of democracy now.

  • Democracy now is not big enough to be the American version of Al Jazeera.

  • Yes! After seeing so much bias against Ron Paul, this is exactly what we need for news today

  • ello, Out fox the fox ? That would be good. Cheers....

  • I agree purple man!

  • he's grey
