    Arigato gozaimasu Gedan

  • seriosly good

    :)

  • Sensei took my shodan test back in the eighties.. I have fond memories of him, a true gentleman.

  • Satoshi Myazaki was my Sensei in the late 1960ies until the end of 1970. A great man and a hard fighter. I do know it as I did a lot of Kumite with Sensei during national Training in Brussels.

  • RIP.SEN. Miyazaki. JKA BELGIUM.OSS.

  • the era os this footage could be correct, but due to image quality i cannot definitively ascertain that this is sensei toyotaro miyazaki of the flushing dojo, u.s. shotokai, kenkojuku association. the body size is inconsistent. the flushing dojo was on northern boulevard near main street. i must agreee with pichuki2. that is not sensei miyazaki.

  • The sensei shown here is Miyazaki Satoshi, dead 1993!

  • apologies. seems there was some confusion about who was actually featured in this clip. thanks for clearing that up. it doesn't make this demonstration any less impressive though.

  • @sroedner what did he die of?

  • @Bassai Cancer I am afraid.

  • @sroedner Same thing that took Enoeda sensei. Sad. From this demo, it looks like his skill level was pretty good for his time. His speed and precision in the choreography is impressive. We could have learned so much from him. BTW, choreography is not a bad thing for a demo, especially since most of basic kumite and bunkai is learned through choreographic process before moving to free sparring and full speed applications.

  • @Bassai Cancer

  • @Bassai I think it was stomach cancer. He smoked a lot and ate very spicy food at the end. He was a great master thou.

  • @xalevedi Same think that took Enoeda Sensei a few years ago. Thanks.

  • @sroedner OSS...JKA Belgium.

  • @wendysdad11218 Of course he is. But he is the Sensei from Tokyo Japan not the one in the US. Satoshi Myazaki was living and teaching in Belgium.

  • Wow I was at the Flushing Dojo as well. The second floor one on Roosevelt ave. those were the days.I was there as a student in 85. Take care you all

  • To anyone who knows Sensei Miyazaki... thats not T. Miyazaki! I know my Sensei!

  • You might know your Sensei, but you obviously don't know how to read english. Please find someone who can read BOTH FIRST and LAST NAMES in the title of this video for you.The person in this clip is Miyazaki SATOSHI Sensei. I happen to know two guys whos last name is Smith - Kevin and Joseph. And I can with 100% certainty tell you that Kevin is NOT Joseph. I know Joseph! (even though he's NOT my Sensei)

  • I loved that dojo in Flushing, second floor, next to the paint store. My daughter actually studied under one of his blackbelts who has a dojo in New Hyde Park, L.I. man time flies.

  • I also trained under Sensei (Toyotaro) Miyazaki at his Flushing Dojo...the original Northern Blvd. location and the later one. I sure miss those days.

  • -Response to Joyouslife4all- Sensei Miyazaki does not teach anymore I'm sad to say he now has Parkinsons Disease. If anyone is looking for this level of training there is the Takahashi Dojo in Amityville Harbor on Long Island. Sensei's Takahashi and Miyazaki both were students of Okano Sensei in Japan . Several of his students still train at the Takahashi Dojo. Instruction on this level is almost impossible to find. Oss!

  • Funny you say that, I saw Miyazaki this morning. He was visiting my dojo and even took the time to show a bo form to one of the black belts. He looked fine to me

  • I trained with Sensei Leiarra in the Miyazaki School in brooklyn...I dont think its there anymore. I miss them days. great video.

  • I trained under Toyotara Miyazaki in N.Y.

    Great video.

  • i trained with sensei miyazaki as well! i trained with him when he had his school in flushing

  • oh my goodness! I also trained under Toyotaro Miyazaki in Northern blvd in NY back in 80s!

    where is Miyazaki sensei now??

is he still teaching in NY?

  • It's not Andy Sherry and it's not Enoeda. Looks a bit like Shiraii.

  • You are dead right. It's Miyazaki, the late JKA instructor in Belgium. Thanks for your correction!

    sr

  • Not at the moment-sorry! Most sources I have are based in Italy...

    Sergio

  • I've never seen that film before - Wonderful !

My own Sensei, Mr Frank Cope 7th Dan, would have been a student of Sensei Enoeda at that time.(At the famous Liverpool Red Triangle dojo).Sensei Sherry and Sensei Cope were friends at the Triangle. Is there any film of Sensei Cope in existance ?

  • kewl demo! Thanks
