There are too many in the game that sound like this young man. I can see Simon Cowell telling him that he is forgettable for that reason, because there is nothing that distinguishes him from the rest of the young male R&B singers that are out now. You can say that I am being mean, but what I say is true. Have heard his sound time and time again, which is truly sad. He does have a nice voice, but singers with his sound are a dime a dozen.
Jarbon5, I said the same thing about Jr. I love his daddy's music and hope that he re-thinks the type of songs he writes. All the kids are singing those "get you girl" songs. Try luv you girl, want to spend some time with you song...
I think that's true as far as the lyrical content goes, but honestly his voice? Not many men use their falsettos nowadays. If they do, they're very weak. That's one thing the first generation of DeBarges had were some great falsettos. And Jr here sounds pretty good with his too. He just has to find the right sound.

You should revisit your dad's old music, he sang about love and romanance. Young brothers, now-a-days, sing about "Gettin' Booty" change the game to what your dad's vision. Robin Thick, Joe, Anthony Hamiltion are examples of singers singing about the love for a women. You sound good, sho nuf, don't get lost sing those "playa/mack" songs. There are too many in the game that sound like this young man. I can see Simon Cowell telling him that he is forgettable for that reason, because there is nothing that distinguishes him from the rest of the young male R&B singers that are out now. You can say that I am being mean, but what I say is true. Have heard his sound time and time again, which is truly sad. He does have a nice voice, but singers with his sound are a dime a dozen.

I think that's true as far as the lyrical content goes, but honestly his voice? Not many men use their falsettos nowadays. If they do, they're very weak. That's one thing the first generation of DeBarges had were some great falsettos. And Jr here sounds pretty good with his too. He just has to find the right sound.

Man oh man, these stupid record producers need to get their acts together and start scoping out the new generation of DeBarges (the old ones need to release at least one more album too). So much underutilized talent in that family. Far better than these yardbirds today with record deals like Chris Brown (Ike Turner).

Ummm...The "business" is dog eat dog. Should we really be encouraging young black males to make such a harsh, fickle business their ONLY goal? There are literally THOUSANDS of hungry, sangin' youngsters looking for a contract. Do you come from old money (that parents will willingly fork over) or have the ability to simply take over a thriving family business if this doesn't happen? If not, you might want to consider a back up plan. I'm just saying. I'd tell my child, sibling the same thing.

You should revisit your dad's old music, he sang about love and romanance. Young brothers, now-a-days, sing about "Gettin' Booty" change the game to what your dad's vision. Robin Thick, Joe, Anthony Hamiltion are examples of singers singing about the love for a women. You sound good, sho nuf, don't get lost sing those "playa/mack" songs. Those guys don't last long nor do they every have the impact of a Bobby Debarge. Merely look at all the love your dad is getting from this site. goodluck!
