So at age 18 my friend and I were wandering around a town in middle-of-nowheresville New Mexico and we came across a used book store. I was looking through old novels and he comes up to me grinning from ear to ear.

At the very bottom of a stack of Vinyls he was looking through was an original Court of the Crimson King. The sleeve was beat-up, but that really just makes it look more awesome.

@Mygodtheastronaut : There are three Crimsons. 1) This, the psychadelic incarnation, 2) The heavy jazz version of the mid 70s with Bill Bruford on drums, and 3) the Math Rock 80s with Tony Levin and Adrian Belew. This song is a good representative of 1. For 2 listen to the record "Red," particularly the song "Starless." For 3 listen to "Discipline."

Yeah, I'm one of the ancients that was around when King Crimson released this, and I LOVED IT THEN... as I DO NOW, but wow... I always tried to imagine stuff with the music, but YOU'VE certainly come up with the art that I have no doubt the band would approve of... and so do I! Great job!

The album 'Foxtrot' by Genesis has an epic piece of music on it by the title of 'Suppers Ready'. SR is 25 minutes long but has an awesome epic last few minutes conclusion where some people have described themselves as having almost a religious experience! Its definately uplifting if thats what you want. Enjoy

Try "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon" by the Moody Blues - go for the extension version but the shorter ones are also good. That LP came out around 1970, and "The Court of the Crimson King was in 1969.
