and this still leaves me with the question... how do i improvise? o nvm i figured it out on my own using google -__- expert village you need to up your game.
Why do so many of you not know that hard rock was born out of blues and other forms of music? So many of the "forefathers" of hard rock have blues all over their music and it's still there in today's hard rock.
@TreyarchIsGay You have no idea what you're talking about. What he is playing was, and still is, considered hard rock. Noobs like you have no clue what the differences are in all the genres of rock music. You're fucking 21 years old. You have no clue what hard rock is.
@bangitsmom playing muddy waters with the distortion all the way up is not hard rock which is what hes doing.. my age has no affect on my knowledge of music... da
@TreyarchIsGay No....you clearly have no idea where hard rock came from and the basic building blocks of the genre still encompass. You probably don't even know much about music, in general. You have absolutely NO CLUE that some of the biggest names in hard rock use simple theories of blues (among other forms of music) when constructing their songs. Please, go away. You really don't know what you're talking about.
@bangitsmom no shit... i know that hard rock is directly related to blues... HE is not playing hard rock... yes, some hard rock is played in minor pentatonic but THIS is not hard rock.. he is just playing blues licks with distortion.... btw making comments like saying i probably dont know anything about music is a comment with no supporting evidence... therefore an ignorent comment... you look dumb... you dont know what your talking about
@TreyarchIsGay Like I said, Go away. You STILL don't know what you're talking about. Typical idiot on youtube. You prove you don't know anything about music with every post.
@L4u84S You have this idea in your head that you are all knowing about music... your wrong..... hard rock does not equal blues..... Im not saying that hard rock is not directly related to blues but HE IS NOT PLAYING BLUES... you dumbass... like I said... you have nothing to say with any premise or thought.. all you've said is im stupid... your dumb... like i said
I'll punch this guy's dick off. Oh yeah guys this tells us EVERYTHING we need to know in order to improvise solos. It's just some fucking guy playing unoriginal guitar licks. Listen to this fucker's logic, he says "I'm staying in the scale of E." .....what? L O Fucking L, there are over 30 scales in E. We will totally get on deciphering which one that is, fuck expert village.
just flurrying notes right off that same tempo? doesn't the name expertvillage imply they have some knowledge of what they are talking about...i guess that's why he thinks this is hard rock too...
I agree with erikeepper - the timing is REALLY OFF. He is trying too hard and is losing it. If you play with a good drummer he will throw his sticks at you for losing the beat :-(
wow 4 months ago when i had been playing guitar for only 9 months, my teacher taught me the primary chords and scales, so i tried learning how to improvise from this vid, it didn't help, but during that time period my guitar teacher actually taught me the steps to improv, and now this vid actually gave me some useful tips on how to add a more hard rock feel to improv. message to beginners, don't try to learn improv from this vid, i think its aimed at people who already know how to improvise.
hey y are you guys watching the video if you say you cant teach improv? its called "how to improvise guitar solos" so calm down its just good to watch someone else improvise to see how its done and how it sounds so you can make up your own
exactly. i think people forget that we actually pick up and use techniques that we watch, whether we realise it or not lol... besides, its great to watch other players regardless of their level. everyone has a different way of perceiving an instrument, nothing better than seeing their perspective in action. open minds learn, closed minds barely experience their own lives. let alone new skills. im seeing another person having a good time and sharing knowledge.
god!! people do you think you can learn to play pro guitar by watching a few vids on youtube??? This is not for beginners,,
He is only giving a few hints, on how you can play, he dont need to show you how he play only how it may sound.. You people gotta find your own sound and style.. AND THEN PRACTICE GOD DAMNIT!! You won't turn into a guitar god by night, if that is what you think...
using ALL available methods of learning is how to learn an instrument, not just playing and going to a teacher. how can you master something if you limit your learning. even players with less experience have something to teach, as their perspective will differ from your own. open your mind and stop posing. no one cares if you think you can play better than this guy. there is no 'better' in ANY form of art. its about bettering yourself... if you learned nothing from this, youre an idiot lol
im with you but thats not all there is to it. you first gotta learn beginner steps like chords, notes, and scales. but when you master that and you FIND your style, THATS when this video comes in handy
Its better whenn you figure it out on your own instead watchin something that has been played 1 000 000 times before. No affense to the dude in the video
