I get rather annoyed when considering that Scotland is sitting on more gas and oil than anywhere else in western europe, and yet folk have to live in such 'clinically deprived' conditions! Great memories. Left Garrowhill for Toronto in 1953 but nearly everything looks the same.  No trams though. They were great. Barrachnie Inn has remained unchanged. Thanks for this!

Always the poorest part of Glasgow but always the most generous and spirited. I'd get shot of those ugly 1960s tower blocks on the Gallowgate though, absolutely ugly. Good vid mate, you caught an area in transformation and once the 2014 Commonwealth games come some of these building will be gone.
