  • man it dont matter if its got 427 badges on a 428 their basically the same exact block except for the freeze plugs and other simple stuff, it aint no different then someone putting a 406 badge on the 390, the only way you would no the difference is if you go measuring cubic inches or reading #s shoot actually come to think of it the 406 and the 390 are the same exact block as the 428 and 427 to just different bore and stroke, either way this is a bad car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when i saw this car on ebay i feel in love and when i got the chance to hear it on here..i knew that car was something special..thats mighty MERCURY at its finest..i wish i had that car like everyone else on here..i own a 79 capri rs, 79 capri turbo, and 80 capri turbo..i hope to someday own one mean old school MERCURY like a marauder...is that car still here in the states or did it end up over seas..i notice alot of our american made cars end up over there now days...

  • Dang Jeff......you found one! I mailed you several months ago admitting loving big 'ol Mercs and you admitted that you did too , and now you have the prettiest bad 'ol girl that cars of that era. Sure I've seen some XL's around the same time......but they just ain't Mercury bad! I said to you I would mortgage my house for a Parnelli Jones '63, but this one is a tempter! Of course you know, Mercury just had to do this. Respect.
