  • Its a good thing that it did not happen. First of all, although Mary may have been a devout catholic, she was first a Tudor and would not have put her own sister to death. As for Mary, she was a polictical ploy that was used by the Catholic church and Spain. Her reign was tragic and she would have been devistating for England. Her son was the only salvation her reign produced. Not much there either!

  • you're a moron if you think that.

  • I wish this would have happened! Elizabeth did so much for women's rights, and if she wouldn't have, women would know their place!

  • @evaperonfan

    Sure, in the dark ages.

  • I know that. I just wanted to see what kind of reaction I'd get.

  • @evaperonfan

... like Katherine The Great or Maria Theresa or Empress Theophanu earlier .. ;-)

  • That would be so sad if mary actually killed her own sister! Creative idea and great vid

  • No Elizabeth I = No British Empire, no USA, no English as dominant language.

So yeah the world would have been very different.

  • england would've been catholic which means that the "new world" would've been catholic and possibly the french and spanish would've ruled it together which means i'd be speaking spanish or french or some combination. there'd be a lot less christianities thats for sure. plus without the "protestant work ethic" there may've never been a united states and no revolution?? the world would be profoundly different...

  • In a way it is a horrible thought. No Queen Elizabeth? No way! It wouldn't have been the same without her. She did so much for her country, things that we might today miss and need.

  • this song is really great - what´s the name of this song?

  • I veyr mcuh doubr that if she had had Elizabeth killed, that it would be by burning

  • i know but had no beheading clips that fitted here.... just a vid that came to me... only toke 5 mintues to make!

  • @CatherineSuffolk How close to death did Princess Elizabeth came under Queen Mary I, her sister?

  • @md991free Very, Elizabeth was in prison with no real hope of escape, Mary had her death warrant drawn up and ready to go, it was actually put into Mary's hands with a quill and ink and all she had to do was sign it. That's about as close to death as i think you can get in Tudor England and come back from.

  • @tribetng So this part of the movie was true? I thought it was Hollywood re-written history a bit in order to add drama and content.

Indeed, she almost lost her head like her cousin and former Queen: Jane Grey.

  • @md991free Yeah that part is true. Fun Fact the exact same thing happened to Mary when little brother Edward was on the throne imprisonment, humiliation, interrogation (not quit torture but close enough) he had her death warrant on his desk and the quill in his hand but couldn't or wouldn't sign it. however you cut it they were one screwed up family.

  • @tribetng I think the reason little Edward would never had dare kill his older sister is one, she was his blood sister and two, she was protected by the most powerful Prince in all of Europe: Her cousin once remove, the ruler of Spain from her mother side of the family.

  • @md991free Good point.

  • elizabeth was considerd a hertic the punshiment for hertics is burning at the stake however jane grey was church of england too and she was beheaded.

  • Interesting to think about what might have happened isn't it? I'm not exactly sure what it would have been like if Mary Tudor had had Elizabeth executed like Jane Gray and if Mary Stuart had become Queen. Mary S was Catholic, though supposedly quite kind and tolorant, and James was Protestant though he was fairly tolorant in the long run as well, so maybe England still would have wound up mainly Protestant... Who knows though?...

  • yeah Mary S was very toldernat, she said you could be what religion you wanted as long as she could remain catholic

  • james was removed from mary's care when she remarried so he might have been catholic if she recieved the crown before she remarried

  • It is kind of scary and mind of blowing really. England would e catholic but right now the world is changing and countries once very catholic or proestant now have a little bit of everything, so I believe that it would have taken LONGER to have change where there would be a little bit of everything in England as in other countries.

you managed to ask an important question.

    I love it!!
