so how do your start it....like wat i mean to say is how is fuel gonna get inside the engine wen turning it on....since there is no air being sucked in with fuel at initial start up.....
The same way it would start without it, it doesn't affect it at all. The air that the engine is pushing through while cranking moves the turbo so the air/fuel isn't being blocked. kinda hard for me to explain in words lol
Is there anyway you can take some close up pictures of the engine and send them to me?i also have a electric fuel pump with a 30 pic solex carb... Oh and another question do you have a blow off valve?
yea sure i still have some pictures. yes and no. its has kind of a blow off built in that had a spring that determined everything and i just wired it shut seeing as how a stock 1600cc isn't going to build enough to need it lol
Where do u have the return line going? I have a turbl for my 66 its a t3/t4 with a stock 1600 single port im just worried about the oil issue... Where are you getting oil from?
i got oil from the pressure sensor and just put a "T" in line so i can still use the sensor. I returned the oil where the fuel pump is, i just use an electric fuel pump pump.
Im lookin to buy a turbo for my bug the problem is that all it comes with is the turbochareger and the exhaust headers so i eas thinking of runing my stock carb and intake manifold everything else should be relativily easy i hope so great video by the way really gave me hopes and good ideas
no just all that and there is a "power pulley" on it as well, everything else is stock. I have since put in my rebuilt stock 1600cc and re-installed the deck lid, I'm much prefer the original look lol.
hey i was thinking about doing this to my 69 beetle and was wondering where you got your turbo from?

You hook up the turbo str8 to the intake manifold then the carb to the turbo?

yea. its a suck through style. the blow through style is a lot more efficient though.

@rxgrip
you cant have a blow off valve with this "suck-through" setup. i assume that by saying "thing with the spring" you mean wastegate

What's the silver braided hose? Oil feed? Hopefully it's not the drain.
