Codec stands for "coder-decoder", it is a method of compressing video in order to strike a balance between file size and quality. Different codecs have different data rates, aspect ratios, and methods of closed captioning in order to achieve this balance. Some examples of codecs are DV, MPEG-2, WMV, H.264, Uncompressed, DivX, XviD, and ProRes.

I used a gametype where there is no weapons and when you zoom in, it looks like camera or theater mode.

Wow, compared to the previous test this looks really good! And the sound quality has also improved dramatically. I'm thinking of buying this capture card to begin with as it's quite cheap.

Yeah I know, the previous test was a quick test of about 1 month in testing, however this test was when I was more familiar with the settings and tested the Roxio Game Cap for about 7 months.

@MultiKillGamingHD The thing is, Roxio's are only SD right? So the max you can get from them is 480p. Obviously you had to render this as HD, so isn't this lying to the audience? I'm not having a go, Im just interested in how to get the best quality for the lowest price

I'm not trying to lie to the audience when I say "HD". I'm sorry if some people see it that way, however when I say "HD", I mean the video is rendered in HD.

Sorry for a late reply. I used these current settings.

Brightness: 136

Contrast: 30

Hue: 127

Saturation: 45

Sharpness: 0

Then, I render in DivX HD 720p @ 30 FPS or DivX HD 1080p @ 30 FPS.
