the last truck knows what hes doing. hes actually the ice cream guy, he knew the fire fighters would be hot so he was racing down there to help em out. his form of mutual aid...
and they drive that truck that looks like a bread truck? thats actually pretty unique. cool deal, thanks for fillin me in. :) (btw, im not being a smart ass)
Cool clip! But why would you not just pull over and film them? There would have been no wind noise and less bumping around. That's what your suppose to do. Pull to the right and stop. You of all people should know that?
It started as a 1958 Ford/Seagrave 65 ft. mid-mount ladder. The chassis is still the 1958 Ford, but with a 1980 Ford cab and Cat 3208 V-8 diesel plus a 1982 Salisbury Heavy Rescue body. It has a 250 GPM pump, 250 gallon water tank and a 10 gallon foam tank. It has a 5-speed manual transmission which is probably also original.
Don't know about Humane, I'm pretty sure they're bidding out. Reiffton did too, but Seagrave just ended up winning. Oh, and the original spec was for an AeroDynic (like all of our trucks have) with the Solaris LED instead of rotators, but after visiting the Seagrave plant, they decided to go with the 3 mini-Freedoms like FDNY has. We'll see if that works out well, it should be cool.
The yellow and white "van" is actually a converted service truck/van. It is Liberty Fire Company's (Spring City, PA - Chester County) fire police unit.
All members of the public, firefighters, and emergency personnel-The `establishment` has failed in their duty to tell you of this.. Google paddyanddollydotnet and read FIREBURN MEDIA ALERT, tell all your friends and,in case of severe fireburn keep that number in your back pocket 24 hours a day.
Cool video... but you should have pulled over, stopped and like you're supposed to and then did your video. Sometimes the engines need both sides of the road for safety.
Would love some pictures of your station and a look around. The older one, not the new one. Great website, just google humane fire company or royersford fire
And tell your webmaster to add Friendship to the links page...here is their site ffc85dotorg
you'll have to put the dots in...youtube wont let me post links
Just come around on a Monday night around 7, that's when we train. It's definitely a nice building to get "old timey firehouse" pics of, lol. As far as Friendship, they're on their own with getting their site out to people. When I joined, I searched for both, and Humane's site was the one I found first, so I joined them, lol. And thank god for that....
I've sat in a few Ford C-series tilts, but I've never driven one. I understand they are a joy to drive. They're comfortable and handle well. Plus I read that rescue is a stick. ;>)
Yeah, only two of our trucks missing from that, the new KME engine, and our ladder (typical "seagrave" fan would mention that, lol). For a vid of it (more to come if I can find them on my hard drive), check my vids for one of it pulling out. It's short and dark, but it gets the job done I guess. Thanks seagravefan for the compliment!
They sound like typical tractor-trailer horns. We had a horn like that on our old 1965 Seagrave K-cab pump. That sucker sounded like a rural tanker coming at you with the horn blasting and the Q screaming. It was retired in 1987 but it was sold and served maybe 15 more years at its new home before going to the big firehouse in the sky. ;>)
Hey we have a Heavy Rescue really similar to that one, ours looks to be a bit on the newer side though. Its a...aaaaahhh...'88 Ford C series. And even though the color is a tad...different. Those style trucks arent uncommon, the Ford C series, and Mack CF series trucks are very popular with volunteer dept's. And as for the bread truck (The yellow...thing) You work with what ya have, and if it works...why not!

The Ford Rescue has a very interesting history:
It started as a 1958 Ford/Seagrave 65 ft. mid-mount ladder. The chassis is still the 1958 Ford, but with a 1980 Ford cab and Cat 3208 V-8 diesel plus a 1982 Salisbury Heavy Rescue body.
