And now he's on the radio and it's like every single person who's never even heard of him and only heard one of Adam's song they're all " OH MY GOD I AM HIS BIGGEST FAN I LOVE HIM SO MUCH " I bet they actually know no back round about him at all. Hey now! IMO, new fans are awesome! It's the people who hear only 1 song and OMG #1 FAN LOVE Owl City (this week), and are really obnoxious about it that are so tiresome. They aren't really fans at all. (Just like I'm not a Black Eyed Peas fan, even though I like I Gotta Feeling a lot).

Yeah, I'm a "late comer", too, for me about 5 months, but I don't think that makes me so much less a fan because I haven't had as long of a time to appreciate his music. I bought all Owl City Albums/Singles and most of his side albums and have listened to his songs millions of times. I think Owl City has made me a better, happier person! Totally agree. Only liking one track doesn't give you the right to declare yourself "#1 fan". I get really pissed off when this happens with other bandwagon hoppers.
But anyway, Adam's optimism and cheeriness is just contagious! I hope more new fans will check out more than just Fireflies. Hot Air Balloon and Saltwater Room are top of the list, in my opinion.

Be happy that he is getting successful; complaining about how you want him to be a secret is babyish. I've known him for over a year, and you should be proud of everything that's happening to him.
I am really comforted that a lot of people share my opinion of this "new fan base" of his and all of this stuff that has happened since Fireflies was free single of the week. Having Owl City as my little secret was a wonderful feeling, and it will never be back.

I completely know how you feel, I've been listening to Owl City for over a year now, and suddenly all these newbies feel like they know his discography cause they've heard "fireflies" a few times. Ive been listening to Owl City for a couple years now, and I'm in love with Adam's music. It bothers me so much how people can claim they love Owl City, when they only know one song. Tbh, I think most original fans feel like that. I hate everyone being all "mad on Owl City" after hearing Fireflies on the radio or something. Well, I just recently found out Owl City has been around for a while, I only learned about it thru youtube and discovered Owl City thru "Fireflies", (which was on Fuse's "Upcoming!" vids on tv)then I ended up checking out the rest of the cd "Ocean Eyes" and I bought it. I didn't know there was another cd, I'm gonna have to check that one out too. :)

owl city was able to stay un-touched by record labels for three years, publishing two amazing albums! This last album was pretty good, not as good as "maybe im dreaming"... which is better, quality music... or more money/fans.This last album got him more money/fans, his new "fans" will forget about him as soon as his song drops out of the top ten itunes chart, leaving his real fans, me, that have been listening to his music for three years,with nothing but terrible music thats not realy owl city

Yeah, I'm a "late comer", too, for me about 5 months, but I don't think that makes me so much less a fan because I haven't had as long of a time to appreciate his music. I bought all Owl City Albums/Singles and most of his side albums and have listened to his songs millions of times. I think Owl City has made me a better, happier person! And I agree with the opinions on REALLY newbie fans who are like "OMG have u herd firelies!!! i am owl city's #1 FAN! they are sooo awesumm"... *roll eyes*

haha I know it's funny (and annoying). the people who've only heard his one song Fireflies on the radio, and then they think they're his number one fan. it's so annoying. I guess it's good for Adam because then he'll have more fans, but seriously, it's annoying. xD

Anyways, OWL CITY brings very positive vibes. Like it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy.

Totally agree. Only liking one track doesn't give you the right to declare yourself "#1 fan". I get really pissed off when this happens with other bandwagon hoppers.
But anyway, Adam's optimism and cheeriness is just contagious! I hope more new fans will check out more than just Fireflies. Hot Air Balloon and Saltwater Room are top of the list, in my opinion.

Be happy that he is getting successful; complaining about how you want him to be a secret is babyish. I've known him for over a year, and you should be proud of everything that's happening to him.

I am really comforted that a lot of people share my opinion of this "new fan base" of his and all of this stuff that has happened since Fireflies was free single of the week. Having Owl City as my little secret was a wonderful feeling, and it will never be back.
I guess this happens when a small, devoted fan base explodes into something much bigger. And make no mistake of it, the small group of devoted will be forgotten, because we won't be the ones screaming through massive crowds to see him.

alright this is to everyone..do you know happiness and the warm feeling that owl city brings to you when you listen the beautifull lyrics...why wouldnt you want to share that with the world, honestly his lyrics and bubblegum beats have made me a happier person, it seems like all you guys are selfish with these emotions. i wish everyone would listen, because everyone deserves to, and adam deserves this. and stop bragging for how long youve known of him, just be happy you do know himm. :)

Honestly I know how you all feel ... I have known about for a long time, and then it's like ... I'm happy he's getting recognized, but saddened that now everyone knows about him. I feel angry because people are all "we loved adam from the beginning!" when they think the beginning is the Ocean Eyes album. I almost hope that Fireflies becomes a one hit wonder, because I want him to be my favorite secret again ...

i'm glad to know that i'm not the only person in the world that is upset about all these "die hard Owl City fans" i wore an Owl City shirt to school one day, and everyone told me that they loved the band. i asked what they're favorite song was, and the only thing they said was, "oh....the song on the radio." i'm like you, i've been following Adam for a little over a year now. all those people who think they are fans are really annoying me. oh....and i love this new song. :]

I completely know how you feel, I've been listening to Owl City for over a year now, and suddenly all these newbies feel like they know his discography cause they've heard "fireflies" a few times. Granted, I am REALLY happy that Owl City is finally getting the recognition he deserves, but I guess that pride of knowing him first and having his music as my golden secret always kicks in when I hear all these little twerps brag. =P

Haha I totally agree with you. When people who had JUST heard fireflies say "OMFG I LUVV OWL CITY <3 LMFAO" I just know that I, along with all the other long-time Owl City fans, have listened to Owl City way longer.

Ive been listening to Owl City for a couple years now, and I'm in love with Adam's music. It bothers me so much how people can claim they love Owl City, when they only know one song. Also, Its so irrating when Adam is refered to as "them". I always have to correct people. Im so excited for Adam, because I know this is his dream. I'm sad though at the same time because I liked just having Owl City to myself. But, I do like Owl City THAT much, that I'm getting over that & I'm just so happy for him

i know exactly how you feel i dislike how people do that or they said they love him and don't even know his name. i'm also really happy for him but i would also like to keep him to myself but he deserves all he has. im just glad im not the only one that feels that way:)

Tbh, I think most original fans feel like that. I hate everyone being all "mad on Owl City" after hearing Fireflies on the radio or something. Like you, I'm so proud of Adam and am so glad he's finally achieved what he wanted. But it upsets me so much that everyone knows who he is now, and then decide they're superfans. After following Adam for years, it really sucks knowing that Owl City isn't really a secret anymore. :( But It's amazing Adam really did get this far :)

Well, I just recently found out Owl City has been around for a while, I only learned about it thru youtube and discovered Owl City thru "Fireflies", (which was on Fuse's "Upcoming!" vids on tv)then I ended up checking out the rest of the cd "Ocean Eyes" and I bought it. I didn't know there was another cd, I'm gonna have to check that one out too. :)

owl city was able to stay un-touched by record labels for three years, publishing two amazing albums! This last album was pretty good, not as good as "maybe im dreaming"... which is better, quality music... or more money/fans.This last album got him more money/fans, his new "fans" will forget about him as soon as his song drops out of the top ten itunes chart, leaving his real fans, me, that have been listening to his music for three years,with nothing but terrible music thats not realy owl city
